There is nothing like a locally owned business in the middle of a city to make someone feel at home! This bookstore does just that!! Very comfortable and inviting, plus good coffee!

This is a local owned bookstore on Capitol Street in the heart of Charleston. They carry all kinds of books, have a gallery and great little cafe. Also live music on the weekends. If looking for something local, check here first.

This independent bookstore is right next to an ice cream shop and pizza place. It's a perfect place to wander for an afternoon. The selection was really good and the whole interior of the shop was charming.

Taylor Books is a great locally-owned cafe and bookstore in the heart of downtown Charleston. The atmosphere is casual and very pleasant and the coffees and teas offered by the cafe inside are very good. Their espresso specialty drinks are, for the greatest part, very consistent and tasty. The scones and muffins offered for sale in the morning are absolutely wonderful... More

Love to visit on a weekend and buy some magazines, coffee and people watch. Cool setting-you get a Mom & Pop feel here. Huge selections and if they don't have it, they'll order it and call you within days upon the arrival. Sometimes it's a little pricy. However, it is a local store and you are willing to pay for... This is a very unique shop with great art and books. There is music there sometimes and I've never been able to go, but I'm sure it is great, too.

This is a great little independent bookstore. Especially great if you're looking for books of West Virginia interest - either by West Virginia authors or about the Mountain State. They also have a great little attached art area that has pottery, Blenko glass, and various other art pieces by local artists.

This is one of the best bookstores I have been to. There aren't any used options, which would be nice, but it is more like a barnes and noble. It is very clean and quiet, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Taylor Books Cafe is a great place to stop in for a cup of coffee or a muffin. It has a New England feel that you would expect to find in a shop up North.
