Before going I read the reviews about the food not being fantastic, but made a reservation based on still wanting environment and experience of a tavern. The food was, in fact, pretty poor and tasteless. The cheese soup was so-so, less than average, as was my husband's stew. The sweet potato rolls were fine but did not taste like sweet... More

Last but not least! Wonderful dining experience. Great food. (We had the crab cakes, spoon bread, Seafood Fricassy, rolls, homemade slaw. All A++. And the atmostphere is upscale tavern. Great surroundings, wait staff couldn't be better. Parking behind the tavern, all was convenient. Our fav of the Colonial Williamsburg Taverns! $35 per dinner approximately. Make reservations.

We hadn't tried this restaurant in the historic district before and it was a fun evening with entertainment and servers dressed in period clothing. The food was plentiful and very good but was pricey...for the two of us it came to over $100 with tax and tip(and my husband just had one beer and me, water). SO, if you'd like... More

Yes he did. A wonderful dinner with the Host Christiana visiting us during the 1800's at the table. Music was period piece. The spoon bread was amazing. Make a reservation before you go.

We had been to another local tavern for dinner, on a previous visit to Williamsburg last fall & loved it! This one...not so much! It all started when they tried to seat the 2 of us, in a very small private room, off one of the upstairs dining rooms. Needless to say, we asked to be moved as we didn't... More

I called the Colonial Williamsburg reservation line before I got to town to make reservations for a concert and dinner. The Tavern I had planned on was booked early in the evening and the others they suggested as being near the Palace were all booked too (our concert was at 7:30. The reservations clerk suggested Christiana Campbell's as long as... More

My husband and I went to this tavern recently on the off season in Williamsburg. In addition to a fine meal we were entertained by colonial musicians and got to meet the colonial tavern owner, Mrs. Campbell herself. Most of the menu consists of seafood but I had small but very nice beef. To ensure a reservation, call at least... More

I did research prior to departing on our springbreak trip and decided thata this restaurant was where my family and I would treat ourselves to a nice meal. It was after all apparently George Washington's favorite place to dine for seafood! It was absolutely delicious. Not cheap by any means, but the food was quality, the service top notch, and... More

My wife and I ate here while staying in at a tavern just down the street. We were seated upstairs and had a nice view out the windows. We ordered a drink which came quickly, then ordered our appetizer. My wife choice, the seafood pot, was excellent, full of seafood and a tasty broth. We soon had rolls, the corn... More
