We were in Williamsburg for a bit of a golf vacation over our 30th anniversary and made reservations at Cafe Provencal. It was a very memorable dinner. Everything from the appetizers through desert was fantastic. I was just a bit disappointed that they didn't have a wine pairing option (since this is in the Williamsburg Winery) with the local wine.... More

My husband and I ate at this restaurant during our visit to Williamsburg in May. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and the whole dining experience was first class. The homemade ice-cream was to die for.

Had a wonderful dinner here with my wife while vacationing in the area. The crab cakes were superb, and their home made ice cream is world class (honey and goat cheese... heavenly).

Decor is average and our table was not inspiring, but the food makes this place worth trying! Scallops as an appetizer were delicious and well prepared. Salmon moist and tasty, as were the crab cakes! Server was friendly and attentive. Desert was very good and an extensive wine list was presented. View from the restaurant could have been greatly improved... More

My husband and I picked Cafe Provençal as our splurge restaurant during our visit to Williamsburg. I had the Filet Mignon and my husband had the chicken breast in the bacon cream sauce. Both were incredible, but I must say that the chicken was the best. The funny part is that he picked it without even reading the description because... More

You will be surprised at the Cafe Provencal. The first surprise will be the fact that the restaurant is hidden on the grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. You will drive through fields of grapes to get to the restaurant, which brought back memories of Tuscany. The restaurant is in a small hotel on the property which also has a European... More

Finding this restaurant was difficult, but well worth the trip. We were the only guests for about 10 minutes and then another couple arrived. The dining room has many windows, wonderful chairs upholstered in colonial fabric and relaxing music. Our server, Henry, was solicitous and provided wine tastings so we could find the wine we liked. The opening amuse bouche... More

Top notch from soup to nuts. Great for special occasions. The menu is small but gives sufficient variety in seafood and meat. Great wine list including local wines. Service was first rate. One of only two restaurants I could recommend in Williamsburg, VA.

Loved the chicken breast and rack of lamb! Very quiet restaurant with nice waitstaff. Delicious food! Would definitely go back!
