Description: El Mirlo Blanco is located in a delightful setting in a traditional whitewashed building typical of the Malaga region in the centre of Mijas. The restaurant can seat 60 diners in two dining rooms that feature wonderful open fireplaces, although in the warmer months diners can eat on the terrace with its splendid views over the town and the nearby mountains. The restaurant offers traditional Basque cooking using the finest seasonal ingredients. Its extensive menu changes with the seasons with specialities that include beef stew, baby squid or excellent cod, among many others. There is also a long list of wines and spirits. El Mirlo Blanco is a great choice at any time of year, whether you choose to sit by the fire on cold days or on its wonderful terrace in summer.

Great food, fresh and delicious particularly the Mixed salad. Nothing really fancy but good food prepared well in a nice setting. Have been dining here for 30 years when I go to Mijas and it is always one of he best meals I have there albeit a bit pricey. Will be back again. More

Food is great and pricy. But worth it. When its warm you can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the view of the small square. Onle some of the staff are smiling. More

A very stylish and understated restaurant which serves wonderful food in the style of the basque region of Spain. The outside terrace has great views of the old square however we ate inside in a charming room with an ingle nook fireplace. The staff are very attentive and gracious. I have visited this restaurant on many occasions in recent years, and it is always an excellent experience. The setting, menu, service, presentation of dishes is guaranteed to delight even the most discerning guest. The atmosphere is very pleasant, particularly on the small exterior terrace during the warmer summer months. The menu is based on Basque cuisine and, if one... More

El Mirlo Blanco is a very traditional homely restaurant located in a lovely little square in Mijas village. It is one of those restaurants that you can visit at any time of the year - in summer there is the little terrace overlooking the square (and you must book to ensure a table) and in winter there is the dining... We had the pork chops, the lamb and two of us had fish. I had the hake, done in the Basque style which was gloopy and over-powered by the garlic. Food is average to good but pricey for what it is. Can't beat the view of the square but book earlier in the day to ensure an outside table with... More

This was the second time I've been to this restaurant. On both ocassions it was a birthday treat. The food is pricey - around 20 euro for a main course - but it is delicious witha very homely feel. I had a baked cod dish and my boyfriend had meat stew which he then didn't stop talking about! The wine... More
