The new chef makes good and interesting food. Really liked our last meal, with the wine and service. Will become a regular
Orzo is a gem of a restaurant with abundant ambiance. It benefits from two very hands on owners who are extremely attentive to detail and are hard working. Tommy Lasley is a very talented Culinary Institute trained chef. I recently ordered the butternut squash ravioli. It was delicious and I didn't feel like I had consumed thousands of calories because... More
I have been to Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar several times when visiting Charlottesville. I have never had a bad experience yet. In fact, when my son and his fiancee were planning their wedding, my husband and I offered to host their rehearsal dinner, and what better place to have it than Orzo? The owners were so accommodating. Like every... More
So many wonderful choices of seasonal food offerings.....the calamari, the butternut squash soup were a good start, we tried various pasta dishes all great. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable.
3 of us ate here recently and we all enjoyed our food. We are all vegetarians and there were some good choices for us. What is very cool is that they had a menu card for vegans. 2 of us had the vegan risotto option which was excellent. The 3rd member of our party had a fall squash soup and... More
I am perplexed why this restaurant isn't rated more highly. It has a casual and yet romantic vibe at night. The food is great and unique in many ways. The service efficient. We would definitely be back if we lived in the area. My red snapper was perfection---not a huge plate full of food, but a delicately cooked fillet with... More
I love it when I get great food and service in a non-white-tablecloth&crystal atmosphere. This place is really fun, but not strictly for the 'under 30' crowd. The servers are relaxed, but extremely knowledgable and efficient, attentive but not intrusive. It's a good balance for the one more elegant meal we usually have when we go to Charlottesville.
Thank goodness we had a waiter who didn't want to be our best friend. What a relief. He (Can you believe it? He didn't introduce himself.) gave us the time we needed to decide, didn't disappear and was courteous and efficient. Now the food. Actually very good. I had the ceasar salad to start and it was yummy and substantial... More
Not a five star, but four plus. This smallish bistro in downtown Charlottesville was our choice for our anniversary dinner. A very good choice. The theme is Italian/Greek. The food is inventive and very tasty. They have a wide array of first courses, sides, pastas, fish and meat dishes. We started by sharing a special Greek salad, short on greens,... More
Interesting place; but, seemingly a bit of an identity crisis. Italian trattoria, college night out place, garage? Garage? Well, our group of four was escorted through the front room, back through a middle section, a back room and then - to an open space - not identifiable as a room - the back of the space appeared to be a...
