Simple but good, local food. However it was expensive. The waitress was helpful when picking out what to eat, you could tell she's tried the food.

This is a pleasant place to sit and have dinner. They are trying hard to present a varied menu with local ingredients, etc. But the food is only fair to middling, and while friendly, the service is rife with little disconnects. Better options exist on either side: the Fullerton Inn in Chester (better food), or Rowell's Inn in Simonsville (a...

This is a fun, down to earth tavern and a great family place. They have a pool table and air hockey for the kids and a nice open fire place to lounge by in the winter. The staff and owners are super friendly. Definitely worth checking out when in Chester. I recommend getting the cookie sundae! It is big enough...

I have just found this place and I wish it had not taken so long. The pub side is fun and the food is a huge suprise from what I expected. We will be a regular.

New to the area, we ate in the tavern for the first time, but not the last. Loved it! Many local food choices. Excellent food quality. Comfortable setting with air hockey and basketball hoop to keep kids entertained, but still relaxing and Vermont-Inn-ish for the grown ups. Waitstaff was accommodating and helpful.

We have eaten at the Stone Hearth Inn several times. The food is very good and well presented. The menu is varied and the prices are excellent!! Francy and Sheldon, the owners, are very welcoming and friendly. They work hard to make you feel special and the variety on the menu, is wonderful!!
