Description: Leunigs Bistro has been a Burlington institution since it opened in 1980. Located on the corner of Church and College Streets on the Marketplace, it invites all passers by to visit Burlington's own little Parisian Cafe. The decor and ambiance will make you think you're in Paris, and the food will make you think you've died and gone to heaven. A member of the Vermont Fresh Network, Leunigs chefs prepare the best of local ingredients with a worldly accent. Live jazz with dinner Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Lunch served Monday-Friday, Dinner every night, and Brunch on the weekend. Great wines by the glass or bottle, full liquor service. Best people watching in town. Reservations accepted, but not necessary. Every meal served with the panache of Paris and the value of Vermont, right in the center of town.

We rode the ferry across Lake Champlain from Plattsburgh to Grand Isle. Then a slow drive through the Spring time flowers of Vermont before arriving in Burlington. What to eat? We wandered along Church Street and a corner Bistro caught our fancy. Can we eat here and make the 6:45 film at the Roxy? In we went and we didn't... More

Leunig's is our favorite place in Burlington. At our last visit we enjoyed a cocktail in the new second level space before being seated at a cozy deuce by the window for dinner downstairs. We consistently have great food and love the friendly feel of the place.

Yup. I don't remember the exact times but after 9 (10 on Fri/Sat) you can have two courses for $15 and a special price on wine too (limited to one glass of the special, for some unfathomable reason). We always get the cheese plate - perfect pairings of awesome local cheeses with fresh fruit, worth the extra $. The entree... More

My husband and I had pre-booked to dine here whilst on honeymoon, not sure why we bothered to book as we were kept waiting around for 30 minutes for a table. I am not sure what the hype is about with this restaurant as I had the pork which was incredibly dry and unappetising. We had one course and had... More

Leunig's would remind you of a casual parisienne bistro. At one point in time, they used to have a small jazz band for entertainment. The menu is very elegant and tasteful, worthy of the white linen table cloth; good wine selection/liquor/cordials accompaniments. Value priced, affordable enough so that everyone can enjoy a taste of Paris without actually booking the ticket.

Visited Burlington, VT this past weekend. First evening walked along the main street but we wanted something light to eat. Many of the restaurants had outside tables. We had oysters, calamari and wine. All was cooked just right. Decided to return for dinner. We had the Inn call and make reservations for us (highly recommend getting reservations Before You Travel... More

We received a gift card for this restaurant and decided to try it out with some friends. I strongly suggest making a reservation if going for dinner as this place does accept them and was booked solid when we arrived. I made my reservation a week in advance. We had The Steak Frites, Salmon, Cavatarri Carbonaro and Pan roasted Pork... More

Foolishly, we walked down Church Street in Burlington on 65F sunny Saturday afternoon thinking we would just pop into Leunigs for a nice dinner. Every place on Church was packed. We were quickly seated outside on the brick walkway tables and then decided it was a little chilly to sit outside, so i asked about the fairly new Lounge upstairs.... More

I went for Sunday Brunch and ordered Leunigs Petit Déjeuner. It comes with green mix, fruits, croissant and cheese. I was very please, the fruits were super fresh and the salad excellent, I choose blue cheese which was wonder full!. If you are planning to go during a Sunday to Church Street to shop be sure you go after 10:00... More
