My third trip to the Gristmill. Atmosphere is unlike any other and is totally Gruene. All seating is essentially outside, so no A/C, but not really a problem.

Best food, service and atmosphere around. A must go!! The appetizers are sooo...good and I personally love their salads. I love the location but wish they had a water view.

My wife and i make it a point to come here every time we are in san antonio. We always get a table outside over the river. The food is good but not great. The setting is what makes this place and is why we always come back.

If you are in Gruene TX, you must have a drink or a meal at the Gristmill. Unique setting in the old gristmill and the tables outside overlooking the river are great! Go early for dinner or a late lunch to get a good seat!

Had dinner with friends we haven't seen in 20 years. Great outside seating, down on the lower level. Steak salad was fabulous. Apparently our dinner tickets got confused or delayed, and the manager came over, apologized for the delay and comped us 2 desserts (pecan pie!!). Service was excellent. Steaks very thinly cut and overcooked but the fish was cooked to perfection. We heard the ribs were suppose to be really good but they are not on the menu. You just have to ask for them.
