This place was rated 22 but we weren't there on a recommendation from our host. My lesson learned is to pay attention to the ratings! We went for our anniversary diner here and were greatly disappointed. Salad was good but I ordered the beef tenderloin medium rare and it was served rare, cold in the middle. I do not like... More

At one time the place to go in Fredericksburg. Now it's just an expensive average restaurant with bad service. Sushi was tasteless and poorly made. The food was over cooked , specially the fish. The burger was good. The service was as bad as it can get. If they don't know you you wait and wait. Bad attitude.

We have had great food here in the past. Not this time. The service was totally unprofessional, the sword fish was way overlooked. Ladies restroom was in disrepair. It is as though they are living on previous good reviews and really don't care anymore. I won't go back!!

Went to August E's on Friday night with a party of 5. The service was HORRIBLE. Horrible is almost an understatement. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress brought the bottle right away in an ice bucket, but no wine glasses. We waited 20 minutes for wine glasses, and then she poured the WARM Sauvignon blanc into our... More

As locals - we hear the good the bad and the ugly. We were forewarned going in. "Just do drinks and appetizers in bar - maybe a fancy burger and some big city priced sushi", was what a regular advised in advance. But date night only rolls around ever so often and here we were. Nice ambiance as always -... More

My friend and I ate here on our girls' weekend. The mascarpone sweet potatoe dish was incredible! The hit of the evening. Her butter salad was wilted and brown. We should have sent it back. Her axis steak was overcooked. I liked my crab cake, but nothing memorable. Our waitress was from Michigan and very good.

I recently moved to Fredericksburg from the heart of Seattle, Washington. I know that Fredericksburg would have some good places to eat, but I still worried that I would miss a couple of my favorite types of food which include Thai and Sushi. Now I'll be the first to tell you I shy away from restaurants that feature multiple types... More

Such excellent service and sushi. I can't comment on the other food, but really great sushi. This is a pricy place to eat, but I will be going back! Do yourself a favor and try this place.

We've been to August E's three times for lunches and dinner and have enjoyed it every time. The menu is creative and the food's great. The service and atmosphere are good too. In towns with high tourism, it's refreshing to find unique restaurants such as this. We would definitely go back again.
