Food was very good. Wine menu was somewhat limited, although a few good picks moderately priced. Had a larger group and could have used a second server to speed things along.
Interesting renovation and use of space but, I really miss the old CS. Enjoyed a date dinner in a packed house with gracious personal attention from the owner/chef. One dish was excellent and the other was not. Will try again.
This was my second time at this restaurant and both times I've been impressed with the meal. I had a featured dinner (seared tuna and scallops with goat cheese stuffed eggplant) The combinations of flavors was unique and very tasty. Others at the table had Salmon w/ scallops served with pasta in a cream sauce (this is a menu item... More
Freshly prepared, unique, delicious foods. The owner and chef are personally involved in each presentation and are always happy to modify dishes to gluten free, vegan, or whatever you want. Charming old building in MidTown almost like a Paris sidewalk cafe. Welcoming bar area, and one of the best wine lists in town. Wait staff is great. Just can't say... More
Café Society, one of my two favorite restaurants in Memphis, is getting a face lift. Non-smokers will love the fact that you can now enter the restaurant and be greeted at a hostess area without having to walk through the smoking bar area. There is fresh paint and wainscoting in a small dining area and the larger dining area has... More
Always a pleasant experience. The restaurant is never noisy, the owner and the staff attentive, and the food is first rate. The wine list is adequate, but nothing spectacular except for a rather wide selection of 1/2 bottles which is a nice touch. As noted by others, the décor could use some freshening, But all in all, you can't go... More
The food is good. The location is great. Need to spend a few $$ and provide some TLC to the physical structure, carpet, and general upkeep. Great lunch and enjoy the menu offerings.
We have been to Cafe Society off and on for many years and have never had a bad meal. Like all restaurants, some meals are excellent but truly, none have been poor. We particularly enjoy going there on New Year's Eve and prefer the set menu with wine pairings as that is by far the best value and variety. We... More
It is always a good thing when the owner greets you at the door. The menu varies each month but the beer is consistent and the wine list has a good selection. We have not had a bad dish. Although not over elegant, it is great place for a romantic dinner or special occasion with friends. And although we have... More
