Happenin', cozy, neighborhood corner Italian restaurant. Can't recall or pronounce entree name, but pasta was stuffed with sweet corn, marscapone & pieces of fresh lobster, with light creamy sauce. Wow! Two size prices nice: individual ($19) or larger ($24) for sharing family style. Bon Apetit....

My husband and I took my parents here for dinner last week after reading great reviews on Tripadvisor. I made reservations last minute and while I didn't get my ideal time, we were able to get in close to it, even when booking for a Saturday night on the Friday before. Dinner started off great, fresh cheese grissini (breadsticks) and... More

We had some time to kill in the afternoon before a planned family dinner while visiting Portland and found this gem on Trip Advisor. We only had drinks, a pizza and the cheese appetizer. It was exquisite and I cannot wait to return for dinner on my next trip to Oregon.

My hubby and I choose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews and once again were not led astray. We let them know it was our anniversary weekend and they saved a special little two top in front of the window just for us. Very romantic. In fact, at 8:00 on a Friday night it was the ONLY table available.... More

Last week we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary with a Cena and were we ever delighted with our choice. We were given a special intimate corner, which was so fortunate as before long, a Cena was happily packed with hungry patrons. We were promptly welcomed by our waitress who attended our every need. To begin, we shared the grilled romaine... More

To date, the absolute best Italian restaurant in the Pacific Northwest based on quality and selection of food, use of fresh, local produce and meats, cost, and high level of customer service. Small but intimate atmosphere in a boutique neighborhood. Everything is homemade from the bread, pasta, and even ice cream. A delightful MUST if in the mood for a... More

First, felt like I was back in Italy. So worth driving the 5 miles out into Sellwood neighborhood. Would come early to walk around. Doug, our waiter, started and finished by putting a smile on our faces! He was awesome!! The cured halibut app melted in our mouths. My lobster agnolotti was beyond wonderful. I made my last bite last... More

We love A Cena! So much so, that we have to sometimes force ourselves to try some of the many other delicious restaurants in Portland. The service is friendly, very knowledgeable, and attentive (without being obtrusive). The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy. Romantic for two, very congenial for 4 or 6 people. The food is superb! The only slight... More

The food at this restaurant is more authentic "Italian" than many restaurants claiming to be "Italian". The menu is limited, but they offer two sizes of entrees with two price levels -- very nice. Portions are large so it is easy to share an entree. The antipasto plate was interesting and tasty!! It had unique things like octopus, high quality... More

This is a neighborhood gem - and, a fantastic eatery in a city filled with Italian restaurants. A Cena is a "remake" of Assagio Restaurant - which bit the dust in 2007. The best part of Assagio was the intimate decor and ambiance afforded inside the dining space. Well A Cena does not disappoint. There is an "old world" charm... More
