We enjoyed our visit to Gustav’s but found our server was a bit overwhelmed by a large crowd on Sunday. Apparently, there were some large parties in the house and staff was spread a thin. As a result, we waited a too long for the beers to arrive and for the second round order to be taken and delivered. Gustav’s... More

Gustav's is an authentic German restaurant with cold German beer, delicious entrees and wonderful appetizers. Try the pretzels and fondue appetizer; actually it is nearly a full meal for 2 people. I had the Jagerschnitzel and my wife had the wurst selection. The service was top notch and you can try out your German with the bartender, as he will... More

This restaraunt has a wonderful atmosphere and good food. Happy Hour menu is limited but very good! The Fondue is always creamy without curds. We are yet to try anything on the menu that was not excellent. And for kids 3 and under you can get free mashed potatos or noodles. This restarunt has wonderful service. Everyone is friendly and... There isn't a German restaurant in Sacramento, so it's always a treat to be in Clackamas and to be able to go to Gustav's. Very good range of German dishes and German beers on draft. Prices are reasonable and service is always good. Heartily recommend it!

The restaurant section of the restaurant/bar was quite busy when we walked in but we had reservations and were seated right away. Except for the young man who was our server, that was the last time things went right until we left. "Would you like coffee?" "Yes, please." "A, ah, ah." "The coffee is not hot - luke warm at... It was my first time to this restaurant, and I was especially looking for the pork knuckles dish as I really enjoyed it when I visited Germany. The pork knuckle here is not offered as an entree but under the meat/fish section of the menu, for about 10 dollars. It was a tiny dish, especially as you are not meant... More

With a group of eight we suffered through perhaps the worst Thanksgiving dinner we have ever been subjected to. The only reason for a poor instead of terrible rating is the server who handled our group did an absolutely perfect job under horrible conditions. But the food? The horror, oh the horror. Mushy prime rib, cold, bland potatos, an pies... More

I've been to Gustav's multiple times and have never had a bad meal. Although it's a German restaurant they offer other European entrées. The German cuisine isn't exactly what you'd find in Germany and I've had more authentic German food here in the USA, but their German renditions are good and tasty. The lamb shank is cooked well and rich... More

This is a small chain. It serves americanized German food. It was good and my Dad's favorite place. Dad is getting older now and the staff treated him very nice. Food was good. Check out the happy hour food menu to bad no drink specials.

On a recent 7 day trip we ate here 2 times which is uncommon considering all the choices. The food was excellent all the way down to the spicy mustard (wow). They had plenty of choices for the hearty eater as well as the light eater (also uncommon for a German restaurant). The only disappointment was the lack of german... More
