A Bend friend enthusiastically recommended the place, and we jumped through hoops to find it (a few doors north of the theater) ... and were we disappointed! The spices were heavy-handed and not as sensitive to the flavors of the main ingredients as usually the case with Indian food. My partner couldn't eat one of the dishes -- not shown... More

Best lunch deal in town! Locals know where to go and we love Taj. Really good Indian food, owners are very friendly and accommodating.

I am going to give it another try. We had the buffet and it was not up to snuff when it comes to good Indian foods. My husband really loves Indian and he was not impressed. Mine was pretty good, but I don't like spicy food so that might have been the problem. We will go back though.

We went on New Years Eve 2012 and were the first customers. The place is run by a family and the mom really knows how to cook! We ordered the Chicken Tikka (breastmeat on skewers), Mushroom Sag, Veg. Samosas, Garlic Naan, Mango Chutney, Mango Laasi, and Chai (two adults and a 5 year old). Everything was delicious. Since we ordered... More

This is a family run restaurant and was reasonably priced for the quality of the food. It wasn't very busy on a Sunday night and is centrally located in downtown Bend. Indian food out can be expensive but in the case of Taj, you got a lot for your money. It was delicious and affordable!

I ordered the tandoori mixed grill and my friend ordered saag paneer. Yum! If you order a dinner you get a great array of side dishes too and papadam and naan. The sauces for the papadam are fresh and flavorful. The menu is extensive.

I love Indian food and have eaten it for the past 15years,even learning to cook several dishes. I tried the lunch buffet. many choices tasted the same and most were lukewarm. Tandoori chicken was tough and chewy and not warm. Pakoras were very small, unlike any I've ever had. Rice was regular white rice not basmati. Again lukewarm. The server... More

I'm not a connoisseur of Indian food but I've eaten around the Pacific, and have been to lots of buffets of all types. I wasn't expecting anything great for a late weekend lunch, but the food was fresh, tasty and there was an unexpected variety (not just tandoori and curries). I'd come back again for dinner.

The food is what you would expect at an Indian restaurant I would go back if I am in the mood for Indian food. Not many choices for Indian food in this area
