Food is OK, but not worth $20 plate. Owner/chef Jesse is awesome home grown guy and heck of a chef, so at least worth a try to see if the food is worth it,

The restaurant is beautiful. Love the inexpensive wine menu! Server was unfamiliar with menu, so not much help. The smoked potato soup was xcellent. The e trees were another story. Companions seabass was undercooked. The flavor in their risottos were odd to say the least. A risotto with Mustard!lime, white chocolate, and cherry served with scallops was truly dreadful. A sweet mess....

My husband and I booked this last minute yesterday to celebrate our anniversary. We had never been to j bistro before and weren't sure what to expect. Let me tell you we had a fantastic night. We were greater by the friendliest hostess, who took our jackets and were promptly seated at a nice table at the windows. We started...

Had dinner recently on a Saturday night with my family, visiting from out of town. We arrived at 8:30PM and were the only patrons seated in the entire dining room. We were not discouraged and very much enjoyed the beautifully appointed interior and mellow guitar music played by a guitarist at the front of the room.
Our server was quite...

We used to go to other downtown restaurants, but now we just head to J Bistro. The food and bar are great and the live music and atmosphere are very nice, but its the friendly staff that keeps us coming back! We bring out of town guests here and are never disappointed...we like to go alone and eat at the...

J Bistro has a lovely upscale atmosphere, and my server, Ashley, was friendly, accomodating, and timely. I had one of the specials for an appetizer of roasted brussle sprouts with candied pecans, but the dish was too sweet for a starter. Diver scallops over a sweet corn was my entree. The scallops were too deeply crusted on one side and...

J Bistro in Sandusky OH...what a FANTASTIC MEAL and the atmosphere was upscale relaxing! Service was very good and friendly; we felt like they were genuine. Food and presentation was absolutely the BEST; what a gem in downtown Sandusky OH. Worth the stop any day. Did not do drinks from bar.
We loved this so much that we went back to eat there a second time during our vacation. There are 2 great places to eat in Sandusky and this was definitely one of them. We met the owner/chef and got to try a new dish he is working on. The menu, while a bit limited, is outstanding and every dish...

We went during Motorcycle week (by accident) and were hesitate because of all the noise outside, but it was like another world inside. There was a great jazz duo playing and the decor was tastefully done...beautiful. We had pasta dishes, flatiron, beet and lettuce salads and they were delicious. My son is a chef and after looking at the menu...

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant a while back, but just got around to it. We have heard a lot about the food and it exceeded our expectations. The place was packed, but service moved everything right along. Even though it was busy, the food came quickly and the staff was very attentive.
If you love fine...
