Had a group dinner for Sorority Mother-Daughter weekend. Great service - had 8 separate checks and they honored that with a smile - not many restaurants will do that. The food was yummy, some eclectic choices and came out quickly

I have enjoyed Kona on numerous occasions, but a business dinner last night was a disappointment. Our server could not give us any recommendations for the full range of items because she was a vegetarian. The dinner items (vegetable pasta, pork chop, salmon special) were bland and unseasoned. We all left feeling unsatisfied and not impressed.
My wife and I recently visited Kona Bistro during a holiday gathering with some friends. Since we hadn't been there in a couple years, I felt like this was a good opportunity to reevaluate my opinion of the place.
The menu is eclectic and relatively healthy. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes are unique. Regarding the flavor, I've found...

The gluten free pasta I had was not enjoyable and the choice were so unusual I was not interested in trying them-I felt like I was in a very foreign country.
Curried Chicken salad sandwich was VERY spicy, but tasty. Coffee was surprisingly served in a styofoam cup - - we asked for a mug and got it. Did not expect a styrofoam cup at a sit down restaurant. Cafe Mocha was bland.
The brunch was excellent and original compared to others brunch in town. I liked it very much and the service was great too ! I would definitively go back there.
The food and service are always exceptional and in nice weather, the have a lovely outside dining area
Eclectic and Bohemian are two words that come to mind when considering this restaurant. Staff from the hostess to the bartender were universally friendly and helpful. Interesting dishes in an unconventional setting. Interesting combinations of flavors might not be for all tastes but there is something for everyone. That is, some of the dishes might not appeal to those who...

Kona always provides a nice meal in a good atmosphere. My wife and i view it as a "special treat" type of evening. A number of their menu items are nice, and they usually have a few specials that are almost always excellent. If they have any weakness, it is in the dessert area - options are few and not...

Kona has become an institution in Oxford by moving with the times. It is a great place to bring friends for dinner and their lunches and lunch specials are phenomenal. The 5 dollar lunch changes every day and are fun to try and their hummus plate and Smashed Salmon etc are great! It is a great, healthy, alternative to fast...
