Description: Set just south of the centre of South End in Croydon, Albert's Table is a charming restaurant serving quality British food. Run by chef/owner Joby Wells, who trained at The Square and The Orrery, Albert's Table is a relaxed venue that is always buzzing with a business lunch trade, and a well-heeled gourmet-loving crowd in the evenings. Spacious and calm, the Victorian dining room has cosy corduroy banquettes and large colourful photographs of the English countryside printed on canvas. Locals love the Roast local Hereford beef with hand cut chips, English runner beans, girolle mushrooms and Kentish onion; the Treacle tart with Cornish clotted cream; and the reasonably priced wine list.

I thoroughly enjoyed dining here, all three courses were tasty and very well presented, the young lady who served us could not have been better - there when we needed her but never hovering. I am not usually one for the sweets but on this occasion I was tempted by the treacle tart with clotted cream and I was not... More

My wife and booked for lunchtime as an aniversary treat having read the reviews on Trip Adviser. The food was excellent, freshly prepared and at £19.50 for 3 courses great value for money. Service was attentive without being instrusive and we throughly enjoyed the meal. Wines are available by the glass or half carafe (3 glasses) as well as by the... More

Our family adore Alberts table and have been there many times over the last few years. We even chose them to host our wedding reception. It is always faultless, impeccable and a joy to the there. The menu is exciting, ethical and nutritious. Service is outstanding. There crab tart is legendary and many people order a whole one to serve... More

We went to Albert's Table for the first time last night, and the service, variety and quality of food were all just perfect. We were delighted to be given a choice of two menus, the Tasting Menu with five courses, either including wines to match the courses, or without the wines, plus a very interesting a la carte menu (which... It took about an hour for them to take our order and bring our starter and drinks. When the starters arrived they were wrong and didn't taste very nice either. When we raised our dissapointment with the manager she was very apologetic and friendly and even offered us free food but we no longer had the time and also based... More

I booked for 8 people on a Tuesday evening. They checked with the chef to confirm that we could order off the menu rather than have to settle for a set menu. The restaurant was not very busy and a couple of tables had been moved together to seat our party. The menu is fixed price with 2 courses for... More

Professional and welcoming front of house. Decor and ambience is serene and tasteful. Immaculate table linen and settings. Food is superbly presented and uses seasonal UK produce full of flavour and the dishes are extremely well cooked. Extensive wine list including a good choice of aperitif and dessert wines and 1/2 bottles. The crab, rabbit , veal and gloucester old... More

I did not have an enjoyable time at this restaurant. The food wasn't great, and the portions were small. I won't be returning. More

Have been twice to restaurant recently, firstly on my own to try it out and then with family and friends and each occasion was amazing. The attention to detail could not be faulted and the service superb. Most importantly, the food the nearest to a Michelin star restaurant you could get, we had 3 courses each and the meat choices... We treated ourselves to Sunday lunch at Albert's Table the Sunday before Christmas. The service was, as always, superb. Nothing was too much trouble. The Sunday roast seems a little bit more pre-prepared than dinner there but nonetheless the food was delicious with a good choice available. For us, Sunday lunch at Albert's Table (a set price menu) is a... More
