I ordered chicken vindaloo. All they did was add raw chilli powder to an already bland dish. Chicken seemed like frozen pieces just dropped into sauce. Very poor, I left half of it. Had I not been in company, I would have complained and not paid. Truly awful!

Waited over an hour for starters, which we sent back. The main came up in 20 min intervals. We had no currently to eat with and had to go and get our own. Bill came up and they overcharged us.

We eat regularly at the Shobab, and can't understand the reviews which complain about the amount of time it takes to receive food. That's exactly why we love it! Most Indian restaurants rush through the service ensuring as many covers as possible are packed in to an evening, especially on busy nights. The food is fresh and ALWAYS worth the... More

Eaten at loads of Indian restaurants in my time but can honestley state Shobab is up there with the best(some of which were a lot more expensive. Service is excellent, so is the food, nice quiet atmosphere in wich to enjoy good food & company. Will only use Shobab when eating Indian food in Whitstable. Also does takeaway & delivery... More

Naga lamb and cauliflower bhaji were excellent and well worth trying, though the lamb main seemed a bit meagre. Any kind of interaction with waiter beyond pointing at menu was pointless, but friendly enough. Service very slow.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times but my most recent visit was the worst. Service here is never particularly friendly or swift but on this last occasion it took over an hour and a half to get our mains from when our starters finished. When I asked why the main dishes were taking so long, no... More

I took my wife and 17 yr old son for a meal on Saturday night. We have been a number of times before and are always made to feel very welcome. The food is very good and we travel over from Herne given the quality.

The food is very good but the staff are as surly as you will ever experience. They give a warm welcome to their regular mates and anyone else can naff off . On the occasion when it was very busy and had cutlery thrown onto the table for our main course after requesting something to eat our meal with we... More

Ample evidence that many Indian restaurants these days are re-marketing themselves in a different light - the food in Shobab was, as a Bengali establishment, distinctly different and of very good quality. I think all in our group chose lamb dishes which were, without exception, delicious - in fact we suspected that they were using mutton which we all preferred... More

Gave another chance on Sunday 28th October. should not have bothered as it was just as bad before. Promised delivery within 45 minutes, aftert 60minutes telephoned and told it was on its way, waited another 30... More
