Have been to this hidden little gem a few times now and have never had a bad meal... Food is wonderful but it is a little expensive (bordering on London prices) but well worth it for special occasions .. This is quickly turning into one of my favourite restaurants

I went with my other half to The Barn for a dinner on a Wednesday evening. We didn't choose to eat from the Special Wednesday Menu (2 can dine for £25 - 2 courses), although this menu had a good choice and was great value for money. We opted for the A La Carte Menu as there were some wonderful... More

We used to love The Barn under the previous owners, but had a disappointing meal a few years back, where it was too many flavours that didn't work and too much food. We gave it another try as the locally sourced food was still good quality. Glad to say the food was back on form, with expertly cooked and presented... More

There were four of us booked for Tuesday evening and although we were the only diners the room managed to have an easy atmosphere, due largely to the friendly and professional waitress Karen. Our food was first class - proper dinner and pud. We order extra veg for £13 which we shared between the four of us and this was... More

Our first visit of the year was for valentines with friends, the menu was a 7 cour taster menu which we accompanied with wines. The service and ambiance is always first class, from the cosy bar area upstairs to the waiting team and even the head chef via twitter! I thoroughly enjoyed all my courses although for the first time... More

I have just returned back to London having spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon at the Barn. There were six of us celebrating a friends 40th birthday. I quickly browsed trip advisor prior to going to the Barn and it certainly lives up to its number 1 rating. The service throughout was friendly yet professional - the atmosphere is unique, quite... We last visited the barn 5 years ago. its not changed much. The staff were brilliant, funny and welcoming. The atmosphere was lovely. We chose the signature menu, they were more than happy to change a dish, someone didn't like chocolate cake! We had the matching wines, which were full glasses and wonderful. The menu changes regularly but we had... More

If you enjoy beautiful tasting food, you won't be disappointed. Everything, including the sauces, accompaniments etc has a distinct taste that satisfies your tastebuds. The portions are plentiful too. If you want burger and chips this is not the place to go but if you are willing to try new things like pheasant, partridge, venison etc, or a lovely steak,... More

I visited The Barn on the 15th December for a Christmas menu with 17 colleagues and found it a terrible disappointment. The starters were reasonable but the main courses were appalling. The turkey really did appear to be pre packaged meat. There was no way it was carved from the bird. Portions were very small and the food cold. Service... More
