Friendly landlord and staff, great beer, great food. The landlord has something going on most nights and with a roaring fire in the winter, what's not to like!
Five of us ate here, and we all had different main courses. My Dad's fish was all batter with tasteless grey fish inside. My pie was burned on the inside of the crust causing the beef to be very dry, sadly the veg was tasteless too and lacked seasoning. My partner said his sausages were horrid and suggested they could... More

On our way through The New Forest looking for a late lunch, and came across The London Tavern. We all had a pork roast, and it was by far and away the BEST roast we've had in a very long time. Huge meal, but not over the top, incredible meat, perfect veges, just delicious! Lovely cosy pub with a big... More
Had the Sunday roast here recently with friends, mainly because of the positive TA reviews. Nice food, friendly service, decent smoking area outside, drinks maybe slightly expensive for a pub but maybe not in this holiday area. I have to say that my beef was somewhat tough for my taste but my mate happily swopped his roast pork for it... More
I previously said I was disappointed with the Steak Pie I had, but said I would revisit the pub to see if this was a one off. I'm pleased to say this was the case as I revisited the pub at the invitation of the landlord to try the pie again and it was delicious. I couldn't post a further... More
This place has a lot to offer. We visited whilst camping a bit further up the road, and wish this pub was the one next to the campsite! Good range of drinks and whilst not a vast menu, what they serve is good, wholesome, freshly cooked and reasonably priced. I had their pie which has to be the best pie... More
Small Rural Pub with little to offer from outside but once inside its like the Tardis. Great menu from small kitchen with good dinning area's inside and out (covered at times). Very friendly staff offering good service and live music every Saturday night. Visited this Pub Thirty years ago and vowed never to return but last year I got dragged... More
We visited the restaurant after recently staying within the New Forest after reading good reviews on here. Was slightly disappointed with the standard of food, my cheese burger was very gristly/fatty whilst my partners cod and chips was full of bones and quite soggy from the batter. However, we can't knock the service as the staff were friendly throughout and... More
I visited the pub with some friends in June 2013 and had the best pub-burger in the UK so far. The outside seating was brilliant as well and the staff very friendly.
I read the web site and particularly wanted to see the great group playing at the pub on Saturday 27th July. I took family with me as the web site said they were renowned for their pies. The food order was taken eventually by a scruffy lad. When the order arrived the pie was overcooked to the extent that the... More
