Description: Nobles restaurant owner and chef Paul Noble welcomes you to this formal but relaxed Battle eaterie serving modern British cuisine. The maitre d is pleased to discuss the food and advise on the hand-selected wine-list. The regularly changing menu emphasises fresh, local seasonal produce. So local, that blackberries are picked from brambles behind the restaurant and greengages come from the owners tree. Enjoy Sussex smoked salmon mousse followed by chargrilled Romney Marsh beef fillet with grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, hand-cut chips and barnaise sauce. Homemade desserts include a rambunctious sticky toffee pudding and a light honey and banana iced parfait. Couple with a dessert wine or plump for the local cheeses with homemade chutney and a robust red.

Thank you Debbie and Paul for another fantastic meal. Food and service great as always. One of our party has an intolerance to peppers and spices which you handled impeccably. Not many restaurants can produce sublime food with such constraints and we applaud you. Looking forward to our return visit very soon. More

This is the first time we have eaten here. The welcome wasn't that great and we was stood a while before someone greeted us. The food was warm and the steak was over cooked. One of our plates has a big chip on the side which wasn't professional. We waited for almost an hour before our starter came out and... More

This review is a perfect example of how Trip TripAdvisor reviews can seriously damage a businesses reputation. This diner was given numerous opportunities to discuss any issues at the time of their dining experience with Nobles. Our reputation is very important to us and we have worked very hard for five years to gradually grow our business in very tough... More

We ate here on recommendation as we didn't know the area. The risotto and lamb were excellent, the steak not enjoyed as much. There's an extensive wine list and the service was really attentive and not intrusive. It was a nice evening although the atmosphere seemed subdued - possibly due to the appalling weather. More

My partner and I went to Nobles on Friday 20th April for a spontaneous evening meal, and it was definately the best choice we could have made. We have been before but not for a while, and it was lovely to be able to just 'pick up where we left off' as it were with Debbie and Paul. The food... More

My friend and I had lunch at Nobles after it was reccomended to us by the owners of an antique jewllery shop right up the road. Having just bought an enagagement ring, I though it fit to celebrate and Nobles was just the right place for that. We both had the salmon and rocket cream penne, a glass of prosecco... More

I went to Nobles last night with a group of girls for a hen do, and we were given our own area of the restaurant which enabled us to be a little louder than if we had been seated next to toher guests. The food was lovely and the service great, our waitress was very attentive and nothing was too... More

This was the fifth or sixth time I have eaten at Nobles. As on other ocassions I enjoyed it and thought the food was of high quality and well presented but there are some issues that I consider merit improvement. This resturant is not inexpensive and and therefore needs to play more attention to detail and service if it is... More

This is a local gem.....Chef Owner Paul is a Risotto Master....and they have the most amazingly priced menu at £10.66 for a 2 course lunch....I would recommend anyone to go there - as it is relatively small, it has a very cosy and relaxing atmosphere and Julie (Paul's wife) and her team are very attentive and professional... another hidden gem More

I book a table at Nobles in August, whilst i was still deployed in Afghanistan. I wanted to treat my fiance and myself to something special for my return, and i was not disappointed. The food was well portioned, well presented and the staff were brilliant. Not in your face like some restaurant where they want you seated and cleared... More
