Visited Yorks today on a quick trip into Thirsk with friends. It looks nice on the outside and appears to offer a nice selection of drinks and food. The decoration upon entering is quite eclectic. This is not good. They really need to decide who they are and what kind of style they wish to be. We chose a table... More

We called in on a chilly February day, to find an excellent menu of tasty eats - scones, pastries and excellent teas and coffees, all at reasonable prices. We were served promptly by attentive staff, and enjoyed the traditional feel of this light and airy town-centre cafe. We know North Yorkshire well, but this was our first visit to Thirsk.... More

My family and I have frequently visited Yorks Tearooms over many years and whether for lunch or just coffee and a cake have found the food, value for money, service and general ambiance excellent on every occasion. A more recent innovation is the wide range of very tasty jars of home made chutneys and jams for sale. Always an enjoyable... More

It's nice to see so many traditional tearooms, and they all seem to be in Yorkshire. We enjoyed good coffee, served by pleasant staff.

I regularly use the Yorks Tearooms to wait for my wife while she does her thing in Thirsk, because I cannot walk round with her. I read the paper (bought at the newsagent near by), have a Taylor's coffee and a cinnamon scone - the latter unfortunately is very "more-ish". They never throw me out, even if my wife is... More

We dropped into this Tearoom on Friday 24 Aug after a long walk around Thirsk as recommended on a leaflet we obtained for free at the Information Centre. Needless to say we were in need of a cup of tea and something to tide us over until our evening meal. That we only requested one sandwich and tea for two... More
