The food is great. Always has been and I've been coming there since they were at the old location in the old Walmart strip. The problem is the one server, long blond hair, she's been there a while. Most evertime we are there she stands in front of the large mirror wall (in the main dining area) and does her... More

My husband and I are always in search of a restaurant that has both great food and great service. We arrived in town on Friday evening to stay through Sunday. We loved this place so much that we went 3 times that weekend!! Once a day... We had 3 different servers and different cooks, but the food and service were... More

In over 25 years of dining at Rucker John's, I can honestly say I've never been disappointed. Until now. I was dining alone, and I sat at the bar so as to NOT monopolize a booth or table. I ordered Garlic Bread as an appitizer. I got cold (but fresh) bread, too-frozen-to-spread butter - and not so much as a... More

The salads with fresh tomatoes bacon and egg are the memorable item. But how can one be so enthralled with a salad? It's the rest of the meal! Served hot and fresh from the kitchen! Your server may not be the one who brings your food as it is a total commitment be the staff to be sure EVERY guest... More

My family and I recently dined at Rucker John's in Wilmington, a restaurant that I had dined at numerous times over the last couple of years at some business meetings. The menu is excellent, with steaks, seafood, chicken, ribs, and a fantastic variety of sandwiches. Their salads are good too, and they say that they make their salad dressings in... More

I am appalled that the ratings are so high for a sub-par restaurant that locals know to steer away from. I would not recommend a stop at Rucker Johns at any time. Basic items like potatoes and veggies taste like they lack seasoning and most of the menu is average and bland at their best. There unusual spin on a... More

This is one of those places that has found awesome balance - and it's appreciated by locals just as well as tourists. The menu has something for everyone and it is all good! My particular favs are the stuffed eggplant and the spinach salad, but my parents swear by the seafood. The whole family fights over the glazed croissants. You'll... More

RuckerJohns continues to be one of the 3 or 4 greatest restaurants in Wilmington and southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina. Great service and food, helped by constant attention to detail, remains the hallmark of this restaurant. Located in a tourism leaning city, this restaurant has not yielded to the temptatin to be a typical tourist restaurant. This is... More

Great atmosphere and great food. I had the fresh tuna medallions and sweet potato. Also, they bring complimentary rolls with a sweet drizzle over them. YUM! Great variety on menu.
