I've heard about the Angus Barn for decades and finally got to visit a couple weeks ago. It didn't live up to the hype. The service was okay, but the food was average. Maybe my expectations were too high. Yes, I know it's a North Carolina institution. But then again, so is Central Prison.

Okay, the prices are crazy but I have not once left there feeling like I spent too much. The atmosphere is amazing and if you can afford it, eat in the cellar, it is an amazing experience. I have never tasted better steak, this is a world class place that everyone visiting Raleigh should go.

Our company used the Pavilion at the back of the property for a business event. The staff at Angus Barn did a spectacular job and the food was terrific. You can bet we'll use this facility again in the future.

Usually I try not to say anything if I can't say anything good, however... Such a disappointment. Spent a week in NC where every restaurant we visited was amazing with impeccable service. Until last night. Being our last night before returning to Boston we wanted something special. When you spend $90 for 2 people,(without dessert or appetizer, other than chhese... More

We have been to Angus Barn a couple of times, and we like it even though we had some tiny problems: -We usually wait 5-15mn to get a table ready, even if we have a reservation. -We had some problems with our food two times, but they always fixed it, so thumbs up for that. I also like the free... More

I have been here four times with very different experiences. This time my associates and I arrived early to relax in the wild turkey lounge before having dinner. The atmosphere up there is much more relaxed and casual. I saw people in jeans and shorts - which I would never wear there. After indulging on their appetizer bar of blue... More

The atmosphere was great and the place was awesome....and then i ordered! Terrible excuse for french onion soup, this little cup of stuff with bread and onions soaked inside! and... More

The Angus Barn is another Raleigh tradition. The steaks are unsurpassed and their beer selection (for beer drinkers) is expansive. It is in a rustic, almost bucolic atmosphere which provides a pleasant experience. The host weddings and receptions.

My family takes me to The Angus Barn every year for my birthday. It happens that my birthday is often also Mother's Day. One of the highlights for the birthday girl is that they take my children into the kitchen - with my camera - and let them decorate a small cake for me and take photos of them doing... More

We used to enjoy the Angus Barn when we lived in the area over 25 years ago, so we were very excited to try it again on a recent visit back to NC. While the restaurant looks much the same, the food was disappointing. We liked the memories of the cheese spread and crackers better than the actual reality. This... More
