When we went they were understaffed, so service was really lacking. The food was decent though. Chicken a little dry, but still tasty and the sides were all good. Restaurant had a nice feel to it though.

Just down the hill from the Soco Gap exit on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Maggie Valley, the Mountaineer Restaurant is a great spot to stop in for a meal while admiring the views of the Smoky Mountains. Friendly staff, a great view, good home cooking, and a nice little bar make this a nice stop on your travels.

We stooped in this restaurant for breakfast, and boy did we get a lot more than we bargained for. A gift shop, a great view, the fire was crackling and the scenery was beautiful.
