If you are looking for a good southern restaurant you can find it here. The BBQ and chicken are served up with true southern sides and great hush puppies. I would go back when in town.

I had a trainee with me from the west coast who wanted to try some NC BBQ; we had business in Kinston so Kings was a first for both of us and we were equally impressed. Had the lunch buffet which was excellent. I'm picky about my BBQ and Kings is now on my "favorite bbq joints" list. Really enjoyed... More

Same problems I had last time I ate here.....lack of attention to the buffet ! If you claim to be famous for your BBQ at least have some on your buffet ! Management needs to go back to the days of old Kings BBQ ! Something here is missing ! the Fried chicken was a little cold , and the... More

Always worth a stop if passing thru kinston. Love the BBQ sandwich meal. Make sure to try banana pudding desert. Also if you go to the bathroom listen to the best bathroom music ever heard. Homily to BBQ. Hilarious

I love this place. The retro interior, the smells, the people take me back to being a kid in the Piedmont. I know that sounds kind of dumb but it did. The GREENS were the unlikely star, whodavthoughtit. So very good. The BBQ was fine, yeah you probably had better, but still it's pretty solid Q, and look you know... More

Traveling with a co worker this week caused us to stop at this Barbecue legend. It lived up to its reputation. I had the chopped pork plate with coleslaw and fried okra. The Pork was moist and tender. The sauce was vinegary and spicy hot with a hint of sweet. It was great. Slaw was excellent and not watery. Fried... More

Being King's virgins we were suspicious when we pulled up to the outdated, strip-mall-looking exterior. As we walked in right after 11am we really thought we'd made a mistake walking into the nearly empty, 70's-feeling dining room. It didn't take long at all to realize this place was the real deal and we had just scored a prime table for... More

Went to Kings BBQ on recommendation of hotel. Was looking forward to enjoying some eastern carolina style sauce. Got an order to go. Meat was very fatty and consistency was, for the most part, ground...the slaw should have been listed on the dessert menu since it contained so much sugar. Had to throw the entire meal away.

This is one place where I have to stop anytime I go to Kinston. The pig in a pup is the perfect balance of BBQ and cole slaw on a large sub sized hush puppy. And that staff is always kind and friendly.
