Of Course Lunch and Dinner followed and now there is a huge following for the laid back Summer Evenings filled with song..local bands fill the air with great music while you grab a quick dinner and a beer!... What a delightful find on a recent visit to Hickory. CAFE GOUDA did NOT disappoint. We arrived a little early, before the busy lunch crowd. But it did not take long for the dining room to start filling up. My friend and I decided to each choose one lunch entree and then split them. I chose from the "lunch special"... More

Ok... so at least once a week Cafe Gouda is a breakfast stop. I'm in love with their Monte Cristo! The coffee selection is always great and more often than not I'll grab something to nibble on from the dessert/cookie case for later in the day. The girls are great!

With a menu that seems to go on forever, you could spend mealtime just trying to figure out what to eat. Whatever you pick will no doubt be good and at a good price. Consider the daily specials -- but you really can't go wrong.

The cafe offers bare bones sandwiches, but the atmosphere is too noisy for a relaxed meal. Service is quick.

Their sandwiches are very good, great coffee, soups and salads. Good atmosphere. A little pricey, but worth it.

Cafe Gouda is a favorite, especially for breakfast. But their large and varied menu offers wonderful combinations and variety. You can enjoy casual dining with excellent food.

I get the grilled veggie delight often. Excellent sandwiches and great service. Tomato bisque is fabulous.

Fantastic sandwiches. I love their monte cristo sandwhich. It is not deep fried like other but sort of like a sandwhich made with French toast instead of regular bread. At dinner they have an awesome gourmet BLT quesadilla.
