Ate here on graduation weekend and were quite pleased with the decor and service. The food was good, but not great for the price. Everyone in our group was pleased with their meals, but not overwhelmed. All in all it was a perfect place for a graduation celebration because the atmosphere was most important in this case. I have eaten here multiple times over the past few years. The environment is elegant, the service is excellent and the meals are presented very well. Despite all of this, the food is often a disappointment. I have enjoyed some of their breakfast items and the dinner biscuits. I cannot remember having an entree that I would order a second... More

Very elegant rooms and common areas, although rooms could be larger given the cost. Lots of comfortable stuffed chairs and sofas suitable for reading or conversation. Excellent restaurant and bistro. Abundant self parking. Outdoor dining on patio is available overlooking a putting green. Very friendly and helpful staff. RGinTally

I was taken to Fairview for my birthday dinner and was reminded once again of how good this restaurant is. The service is first-class as is the food. I had a delicious special of halibut wrapped in bacon served with fiddlehead ferns and tomato risotto. It could not have been any better. My dining companions also raved about their entrees.... More

It is very plain and not tasty. I had short ribs which contained so much visible fat that it was unpleasant to look at it. My daughter had a filet mignon which she only took two bites of. Even the waiter acknowledged that it was bad. The complimentary bites of food given by the chef at the beginning of the... More

My husband and I visited the Fairview recently before catching a show. We were about 15 minutes late for our reservation, but our hostess graciously, warmly, and quickly seated us. From that moment on, we were treated to outstanding service and excellent food. We weren't able to have linger over our meal, since we wanted to make an 8:00 curtain,... More

Very elegant dining room, with impeccable service. Great selection of food and drinks, also offer afternoon tea. Only issue is it's quite expensive, but it is certainly a beautiful and high-class restaurant.

With reservations made a week ago, my friend and I went to enjoy afternoon tea at the beautiful Fairview Dining Room. We had dinner there a few months ago and looked forward to enjoying this experience. While being seated, we asked for a window table and were told since we were a twosome we could not have either of the... More

My family gathered for Sunday morning brunch during Duke's Homecoming weekend last Sunday, and had a delightful meal. The service and food were excellent, and we really enjoyed the pianist. I had the shrimp & grits, wonderful! The price of each entree on the menu included an appetizer from the menu plus the dessert bar. I had been looking forward... More
