Brown's is both a restaurant and a microbrewery. Often, one is not as good as the other. But here, both the food and the brews are excellent! Along with the usual pub food, they have some unusual menu items. I especially like the chicken pot pie made with their own lager. The only downside is that this place can get... More

Our son suggested this place as a post-graduation gathering spot. There were 13 in our party. They don't take reservations except for much larger groups. We were told the wait would be about an hour. TWO HOURS LATER, they had a spot for us, and we suspect there might have been a mix-up along the way in which an area... More

Busy, bustling place. Close to the river. Good food. Good selection of beers. We were seated quickly, even though they were very busy.

My husband and I had s Sunday dinner here Memorial Day Weekend. The beer is fabulous and we shared an order of wings in a sweet chili and serache sauce which was quite good. We should have stopped there. The soup had an off taste, the salad was accompanied by a roll with cloyingly sweet butter, my husband's French Dip... More

Up in Albany with my wife and kids, one of which had just graduated college (one down, one to go), for the Dave Matthews Band concert at the SPAC. Looked up brew pubs in the area. We found Brown's. This riverside pub was firing on all cylinders. Hip, packed, outstanding food and great beer. There are many brew pubs that... More

We came here mainly to try the beers, but ended up having something to eat to. We had a flight so we could try all the beers. My favourite was the whiskey porter, but all of their beers were excellent. The food was good and everything on the menu sounded delicious. We both had burgers, a tequila gazpacho and a... More

My fiance and I love this place. We go in almost weekly, mostly for the beer. The beer is fantastic, it's hard to go wrong when choosing one but my favorites are the Whiskey Porter and Oatmeal Stout. I should note, I don't normally drink beer, don't order it at other bars, but the Whiskey Porter is just so unique... More

The cheerful wait staff and view of fishing boats on the Hudson made the Sunday afternoon memorable.

Had not been here before, but this was the perfect end to a great weekend. Place was packed after we arrived by the group returning from TAP NY festival. Staff did a great job and the food was wonderful. Had the gorgonzola steak and the shrimp and pasta, and had plenty of food for a couple lunches left over. Beer... More

Beer selection and quality is fantastic at Brown's. I'm VERY fussy about my beer and won't settle for blah beer. They have changed their menu frequently which I like. They have good 'pub' food. Their spin on cole slaw is esp. excellent. Efficient, and friendly servers. A nice rollicking atmosphere in the bar and restaurant which is fun, but not... More
