The flavors of both the food and the drinks were really excellent. We had a group of 6 (family and friends) and there was a good crowd there that night, so it the service was just a little slow. But overall, the decor and ambiance were great and - as I say - the food was excellent!

My wife and I just returned home from another wonderful dinner at our favorite local restaurant. We have been to La Cocina many times, and have tried most everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. A nice Mexican atmosphere with out all the cheesy American ideas of Mexican, that you find at tourist areas. If you are looking... More

Everyone has different tastes, the meals we have had here were great. My best friend from Jacksonville, Fl. said the food was as good as the Mexican places down there. Give it a try and make your own decisions, don't rely on those who did not like it here.

Food was okay but restaurant lacked the authenticity of most Mexican restaurants. I would eat there more often (twice so far) but they don't serve Margaritas. Food is fairly priced.

This place was recommended by a couple of people, we like Mexican so checked it out. We both had the Friday night fish taco special, which was a good value for under $8, but until we added salsa and hot sauce frankly there wasn't much taste to it. Not bad -- just not anything special. My margarita was good, and... More

Who would have thought that a small Mexican place in Penn Yan, NY, would be the best restaurant in town? After many meals there, I have to give this place some props. I have found it to always be very fresh and subtlely spiced - this is not Taco Bell, but a true, authentic Mexican restaurant. The pork napolitos are... More

My husband and I enjoyed dinner here recently. The restaurant is small but nice. The staff did seem a little overworked but they did a good job. We had the pork tacos and the enchiladas. All the food was good and were nice sized portions. I did order a sangria which tasted good but was mostly juice. Overall a good... More
