Well, it wasn't but the food that we ordered was great and we would definately go back. The prices weren't bad either.

Next time I'll avoid the blonde bartender, she is unpleasant. The rest of the service was good. Food is really good. I'd like a more substantial bun for the burger as the soft roll falls right apart.
Two families (4 adults and 5 kids) went here because we heard the food was good and that it was an okay place for a larger party. The food was good but the prices were very high for the level of service we received. Our server had to be reminded about a few items we asked for, was not that...

We are very sorry to hear that you had a bad dining experience with us. There is no excuse for the service you say you received. Our employees are usually motivated, engaged and enjoy working here at The Cowboy and we rarely receive such negative feedback.
The menu is priced accordingly to the quality of the product. The jerk chicken...

Enjoyed the bar, the restaurant and the food. Came on a busy Saturday night and had to wait for a table but got some drinks from the bar and were seated at a table within 20 minutes. Place has a real nice atmosphere, friendly and chatty. I had the Thai chicken appetizer which was incredible. We then had steaks and...

Friendly servers and quickly seated is always a must at a restaurant. Honestly after spending 5 days in Lake Placid no other place holds a candle to The Cowboy. Really hands down the best and most intimate servers, not rushed or distracted in any way. Oh and the food was excellent too! Drink selection amazing. Our 5 year old enjoyed...

We ate here for dinner one night. Our climbing guide had told us to check it out....so happy he did. We had driven by it multiple times but did not know what it was. We were seated promptly. Waitress was very nice and helpful. We both ordered an appetizer and main dish....way too much food! The portions are really big....

The bar at the Cowboy is one of my favorites to enjoy happy hour. Not only do they offer many unique drinks (can't remember the name of the super yummy one with fresh ginger and coconut rum), but also an eclectic, affordable happy hour menu with a variety of choices. The bartender, Elexis, obviously has a broad knowledge of mixology,...

Tuesday evening in Lake Placid can be somewhat of daunting task in finding somewhere to eat. However once again The Cowboy has shown me why it is still around. The bartender Elexis quickly greeted us from across the room as soon as we came in. No big deal other than the fact that she had a full bar. She offered...

I have never had a WORSE restaurant experience in my life!!! (And just for background, I'm 47, eat out a lot, and worked both as a waitress and bartender while going to college and graduate school.)
Last Saturday (2/23/13,) four of us arrived at the Cowboy at about 7:45 pm. There were no available tables, so we decided to take...

I am sorry to hear that you had such a horrible experience 'attempting' to order a cocktail at a crowded bar, on a Saturday night during a holiday weekend. I vividly remember the situation. You asked for the drink with 'oats'?! I asked you a number of times to please be more specific (while your friends jokingly said make her...

So I have been here twice, once when they first opened two years ago and this past Monday night. When they first opened I was disappointed, prices were high and portions small. HOWEVER...when I visited with the boyfriend this week, gone were the upscale touches, the menu was more approachable, prices were fair, especially for Lake Placid. And boy, was...
