During the week, this is a locals hangout. Breakfast is their specialty. The food is pretty good, but the local characters that frequent the place are the biggest draw.

Several different sources (including locals) recommended us to Michael's Kitchen in Taos, New Mexico. We were not disappointed. The place was packed but since it's a fairly large restaurant, we didn't have to wait at all for a table. The wait staff was friendly & helpful. The food was delicious. I honestly think they gave me an entire half of...

We actually ate at Michael's twice on our fairly short Taos vacation. We stopped in for a late dinner one night and again for breakfast on our way out. For dinner, our party of 5 had Enchiladas with red and green sauce, Strawberry Banana Pecan Pancakes, Atole-Pinon Pancakes and the enormous Burrito for dinner. Each meal at Michael's can probably...

At the end of the main road heading towards the Pueblo is Michael's Kitchen.
A wonderfully cozy restaurant of pineboard walls and cowboys. There is a display case full of mile high pie, donuts and sticky buns made fresh on the premise. Their southwest fare is flavorful and hearty. My favorite is the house made sopapillas served with honey. They...

Darn good vittles. Great prices. Genuine atmosphere to boot (none of that faux southwest faire you see around Taos eateries).
We had a Suburban load of hungry students from Oklahoma on a photography excursion around NM. There wasn't a single non-picky eater among them, and somehow, they all walked out of Michael's satisfied.
I had the veggie omelette -- more...

Where the locals go, so you know it's good! Phenomenal pastries & breakfast. We also ate there one evening and enjoyed the beef flautas (great!) and chicken parmesan (surprisingly good!). Really resonable prices too!
Have not eaten at Michael's in Taos for nearly 20 years but decided to relive the past for a brief moment. We split an order of huevos rancheros smothered in "Christmas" colors along with a side of pancakes and hashbrowns. Hard to believe at one time in life we each would have had an order. We could barely finish one!...

This is the place to go if you like a big hearty breakfast. The link sausage was a big winner with my husband for 3 mornings in a row!
This used to be my favourite restaurant in Taos but I will never go back. And I ended up with a waitress with an attitude problem. The portions were huge but the quality was bad. Rice was mushy. Enchilada was dry. The Mexican food was all under a category called "super large Mexican meals" or something to that effect. At...

Looked like the locals were going here. It was great to go inside and get food. All the food we ordered was delicious. The kids enjoyed the atmosphere and the bakery.
