not on Route66 but a good living example of hometown menu and waitress service! brings back memories of when i was a kid and our family stopped at "Happy Chef" (remember those?); this restaurant however has new mexican fare; breakfast all day--good corned beef hash and eggs; very good "hot beef sandwich" done classic with great gravy (not salty!); lounge...

Whether going out for early birding at Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge or returning late from the Very Large Array (VLA) and using your base as Socorro, you can use this restaurant to stop by since they are open around the clock. Family–run and family–friendly, the restaurant has a varied menu and some interesting American and Mexican selections for very...

This is where the locals eat, and where they have been coming for years. It's a good place to observe Socorro culture for someone just passing thru. Lots of Tech students come here late at night to study and snack. I rated it average because the food is just average, but that does not mean you should avoid it. If...

Good food, large portions, good prices. Old decor but clean, light, and friendly.

The food was average and the service was pretty lame (waited twenty minutes for the tortillas for my adovado - and not a patient twenty minutes. I reminded two servers multiple times as my dinner grew cold). Attached to a cool/cheesy lounge and sharing a parking lot with the Econolodge made it the sensible choice for us though.

El Camino’s is another very popular place; reportedly a favorite with the local college students. The décor is a bit dated, all very 1960’s retro diner. The staff was very friendly and warm, the portions are huge as reported by many reviewers, and it is very affordable. I was also impressed by the wider selection of items on the menu...
