After so many years of visiting Chimayo, it's a pleasure to find something as consistently wonderful as this Restaurante. The food is so great, some of the best in all of northern New Mexico. This time I had the blue corn enchiladas with shrimp - so delicious! Their Chiles Relleno are a delight, and anything with red chile (my favorite)... More

This restaurant was recommended by friends when we were doing the drive from Santa Fe to Taos. We stopped off first to see the church and then came here for lunch. I had the tamales in red sauce which were delicious. The parking lot was packed but the restaurant is huge so there was no wait. The service was attentive.... More

This place is about 25 or so miles from Santa Fe, so if you have transportation you should take the time and make the drive, not a real scenic drive so focus on the reward, from the time you pull in you start to feel what your experience is going to be, an authentic New Mexico eating fiesta. My wife... More

One of my favorite places to eat when in New Mexico. Even though this is off the beaten path, it is well worth the drive from Santa Fe or Taos. The food is excellent and the inexpensive. The Prickley Pear Lemonade is exceptional and the margaritas are to die for! The service is outstanding. If you are there when it... More

I realized when I ate at this favorite place last night that my first trip to this restaurant was 41 years ago as a grad student! Start off with the house specialty, a Chimayo cocktail (and be sure you have a designated driver if you have more than one). We always order the most traditional entrees--carne adovada burrito, rich and... More

Chimayo is a little off the beaten track, but eating a meal at the Rancho de Chimayo Restaurante is well worth the trip. The food is traditionally cooked and presented, and some dishes can be quite spicy. There is a great selection, from plain tacos, to a variety of enchilada dishes, up to carne adovada. There is a choice of... More

My boyfriend had come to Chimayo for much of his childhood with family, so it was fun for him to bring me there. The food at Rancho de Chimayo was delicious, I had the Carne Adovada of course, as were the silver coin margaritas. It was also neat to read the history of the ranch. A fun little day trip... More

This restaurant should be rated a 10 of 5 stars. Lunch on the patio is an oasis in the cool shade and the wonderful atmosphere of the genuine New Mexico flavor and not tex-mex is not to be equalled. The chili rellenos are the best anywhere you will ever eat. A hidden secret is the bed and breakfast across the... More

This nice little rancho converted into a restaurant is lovely and quaint. The food was above average, the service was good, and the drinks, especially the house signature cocktail, were really GOOOOOOD!! Worth a stop if you are out that way enjoying the outdoor activities.
