We hadn't booked and the restaurant was full for lunch, but they suggested we sit under the trees outside on the sofas and have one of their light meals which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will have to go back again, and make sure we book !

It's hard to say that everything at Pierneef is perfect, but it is. The food is amazing. Doesn't matter what you choose from the menu, it's a feast. The service is good and the decoration on the table, design, etc. is fabulous. This place is the best(!) restaurant I've ever been. A must-do when you visit South Africa

The speciality starter (on the menu in Africaans) was a salted fish salad - which we eventually worked out didn't have any fish in it at all. We are sorry to hear that your experience at Pierneef was not outstanding, however we would like to thank you for letting us know. Our sincerest apologies if you received an Afrikaans menu, we offer menus in Afrikaans and English, and always try to accomodate language preferences as far as possible. The word "bokkom" is not translated on the English...

After the Cape Dutch winery we enjoyed a really good lunch in picturesque gardens & restaurant. The lunch was beautiful & at a resemble price with La Motte's own wine. Everybody was welcomed, it did matter if you were English or Afrikaans.

Beautiful design and great food, what else do you need for lunch? Very interesting menu and the wines of La Motte are one of the best from the Franschhoek Valley. Loved the Chardonnay;-)

The food and the setting of this place must be one of the best in the area, maybe the world of restaurants in a winery. It was simply amazing. The food was gorgeous, as is the wine but the setting really remarkable. I am so glad we went here!
