Tables are crowded in. Noisy. Service was good. BYO makes it more affordable. Food is good, not great. Not worth going out of your way.
We had dinner at Whispers last night. The food was very good. Service was also good. Unfortunately our dining experience was ruined by the noise level in the main dining room where we sat. It was so loud that we considered asking for the bill after completing our appetizer course. We asked our waitress to have the owner speak to... More
More of a special occasion restaurant. "Old Spring Lake" with artfully yet dated decor. Don't expect chain food fare and be prepared to pay a bit more, but the chef is very talented and the menu combines seasonal selections using local ingredients. Superbly prepared dishes, attentive wait staff. If you enjoy the Hotel Del, Thayer Hotel, or tea at the... More
Sunday night dinner at Whispers was a lovely evening. The service was impeccable along with the lovely ambiance and delicious food. A bit expensive but worth it. You can bring your own wine though they do have a wine list. No bar or cocktails available.
Having dined here before for other special occasions, decided to dine here again to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary in conjunction with staying at the Hewitt Wellington Hotel. In the past, Whispers was exclusively a BYOB establishment, but would give you gratis, a glass of wine with dinner. They now have a liquor license to sell wines from a New... More
We selected Whisper's for my Mother's 90th birthday as it was rated best in the area on Trip Advisor. The dining room where they created our table of 10 was perfect- not loud (important for a our group!). Kristan our server was great - very patient and did an outstanding job. The food was delicious - the lobster with the... More
I have been going to Whispers for many years and have always enjoyed our experiences-until last night. It was our wedding anniversary. My wife's meal (1 and1/2 poond lobster over crab cake) was excellent. I ordered the veal chop special. What a disappointment. It was fatty on the all sides , which I cut off. By the time I had... We had dinner at Whispers last night, the perfect end to a great day in Spring Lake. It was not our first time there, and it certainly won't be our last. Every course was amazing ... from the Lobster Crespelle crepe, to the Lobster special (most tender succulent lobster ever!), to the perfectly cooked Filet Mignon to the Ultimate Cookie... More
