I love this restaurant! I go there at least one a month and have never been disappointed. They have fresh ingredients, delicious food and attentive staff. I've been trying to figure out how they make their Balsamic Vinaigrette, it's addictive. The last time I was there I had a pork chop dish that was mildly spicy with mushrooms and jalapenos.... More

I grew up in Jersey City at a time when every neighborhood had at least one family run Italian restaurant. They were old school, what we refer to now as "red sauce" southern Italian. Rita and Joe's is the last of its kind. I now live in New England where this kind of restaurant doesn't exist, so every time I'm... More

Very good food. Huge portions! A couple can split a meal easily and still be full. Fresh bread is served with the meal. Small place but very good.

The food is this place is on the money every time ! I've been going here for years but just became a trip advisor member . One thing that I always order to test a new Italian restaurant is chicken parm. If you can't get that right you shouldn't even be in business.Try it here and you'll agree it's lightly... More

It was okay but the service was spotty. The food was your average Italian stuff -- not bad but nothing to write home about

I use to go to this place all the time, I mean it's been a few years but boy has it changed!!! This was a family owned restaurant where the mom and dad cooked and the son's ran the place but now I don't know who anyone is there anymore!! The servers and the service was great but the food... More

Having heard some good things about this restaurant, we thought we would try them out. While the service was good, the food was not. Ordered calamari as an appetizer and they turned out not to be freshly made, but were made from frozen stock and they tasted like it. We also ordered the mozzarella encarozzo and it too was not... We lived in Jersey City for many years. And, being food of Italian food, we went to try this place as it had some good reviews. We have visited this restaurant more than five times at least. They have very nice and tasty Italian meals. We have tried their Baked Ziti, Potato Gnochi , Tortelleni, Pizza, Eggplant Parmesan, Cheese and... More

There was a time that this place wowed you the second you walked through the door. Now the ambience is dark, the food is unremakable and the service is very quick. They seem to have a theory of quantity of customers to make ends meet versus preparing and delivering a quality, unrushed dining experience that will make friends tell others... More
