I went to Porto Leggero with 14 co-workers and had a nice meal and a great time. The restaurant is located about a block from the Exchange Place PATH train station and very near a light rail stop. I wanted the Swordfish special but it came with two sides I did not like. The server was very accommodating and allowed... More

Went here for my brother's birthday dinner. We are new to the Jersey City area and were looking for a great Italian place near Paulus Hook....and we found it! Incredible food, friendly waiter who was very knowledgeable about the menu, and great ambiance. We definitely will visit here again and again!

My work team had a holiday gathering for a group of twelve. We were treated like we were VIP's when we arrived and we were seated quickly. Throughout our dining experience the service was attentive and cordial. A five course menu of choices was presented at a reasonable price. Chef Angelo greeted our table and willingly made minor adjustments to... More

Went for the first time on friday with my wife and we were so impressed went back Saturday! Ambiance excellent, service impecable, food unbelievable ( beef fillet dish was best I have ever tasted) and not expensive if you take all the above in to consideration. I have eaten in some top ( far more expensive) restaurants around the world... More

We went to Porto Leggero on a Friday evening to celebrate a recent marriage with a few friends. The restaurant is spacious and tastefully decorated. It has an elegant feel without being too pretentious. Service is detailed and the wait staff is knowledgeable. Now onto the food. We ordered 3 very good bottles of a super Tuscan per maitre d's... The food, the wine, the service, the music, the ambiance ...all a ten out of ten! The breads that accompany the wine, the "small' plates of pasta; I had the Arrabiata sauce and it was so good! The halibut and the Osso bucco were both awesome. You have to try this place. Easy walk along the harbourfront, right off the... More

This certainly the best Italian restaurant in northern New Jersey, and even tops when compared to those in New York City! The food is well prepared and the servers are excellent - quality "old school" service that you don't find in many places these days. They always provide some antipasti before the meal - something that is common in Italy,... More

We recently celebrated my son's birthday at Porto Leggero. The food was probably the best Italian/continental cuisine we've ever had - and we are 4 adults with varying tastes and dietary issues. Owner/chef Angelo has a wonderful culinary imagination and takes a great deal of pride in his craft. In addition to the splendidly prepared food, the physical space is... More

Kind of pricey, but well worth the cost. We had butternut squash ravioli and their blue cheese pasta. Both were outstanding.
