It's convenient when working long hours at the U, but the food there is not so typical Chinese. Sometimes it's been fatty.
The menu has large selection and the price was fair. The plate serves size was good for two people to eat. It was nice overall.
For about a decade, this was the go-to place for reasonably priced reliably good Asian food. We called it 'the usual.' We were regulars from 1998 - 2010 or so, then went less frequently, maybe 3-4 times a year, so we were really disappointed and surprised by the decline in quality this visit. We ordered calamari, it was literally room... More
My wife and I had lunch @ Village Wok on 12/3/12 based on recommendations from U of M people . We had 3 won-ton dishes: won-ton soup, cheese won-tons, and fried dumplings, The flavor on the cheese won-tons and fried dumplings were good, but they use a thick won-ton wrapper that is very tough and the dishes were very greasy.... 23 years ago we took my daughter here on the way home from the hospital!!! that is how much we love this place!!!! I have been to China 3 times and this food is as good as it gets!!!
Great spot in Minneapolis for fast and tasty Chinese. Started going in college and haven't stopped since. Huge menu, delicious chicken curry, and addicting cream cheese puffs. Service is always super fast. Can get busy, expect to deal with a little bustle. Also, surprisingly good seafood for a midwest restaurant.
Ok lunch...had to go for old times sake !!! Used to go all the time while going/working at the dental school. This time the lunch was supposed to be Shrimp with Chinese broccoli and it came with American broccoli....which I was ok with but my lunch mate was really BUMMED about. They should tell people ordering that it is NOT... More
The menu here is quite extensive. My daughter is a student at the U and this is one of her favorite places to go. We have had several dinners with her here. The portions are large and prices are decent.
We eat here whenever we in Minneapolis and anywhere near the U of M. The food is great and a good value. We always take food away with us. Love the eggplant but anything we've had has been very good. The atmosphere is crowded academic. And shame on. Them the restroom is down a long dark cellar stairs--inaccessible!
I started eating here my freshman year at the University of Minnesota. Its ten years later and we live in Iowa, and I still haven't found a replacement place. I've never received "great" service here and the atmosphere is a little run-down, but something about it is just irreplacable. Pro's: OPEN LATE: My friends and I used to go in... More
