Beware. They charge for a rental pontoon at the restaurant. We were given a boat that stopped running in the middle of the lake. Trying to get someone to answer the phone was awful and then the guy came to Jeri rig it so it...would go. We wanted to go from end to end but we thought we would get stranded there and it would be a long period of time to get it fixed. We were told we would be paying a lower price but in the end we found they charge us the FULL amount. In addition, they lost our credit card they told us we had to leave there. It was found later on but that time we thought our vacation was over. What is also sad is that we went there for our honeymoon 23 years ago. It was a lovely place. The original owner was there. Today, the original owner had passed away and it is in his relatives control. The females working the desk where you rent the pontoon should be fired but they will not be because they are relatives. They are not the sharpest tools in the drawer. Anything you asked them seems to be a big effort to answer. Do what you want to with this information but I know I will never return to a place that reminded me of the movie Deliverance.More

We've eaten at the lodge numerous times and always enjoyed ourselves. Tonight being Mexican Night I decided to try the chimichanga. It was absolutely incredible! If you're ever in the area you owe it to yourself to eat here. Hell, even if you're 50 miles...away, it's worth the drive!More

They open late for lunch, 12:00 Central time or 1:00 Eastern, which half the lake is on. With the virus and small children we order takeout and ate on the boat. Mostly burgers and fries and wraps. The food was very good. Personally I wouldn’t...recommend eating inside of the restaurant, Michigan has a must wear mask law and not one employee was wearing them. No customers that entered wore masks. Not safe period.More

My wife and I came up for a quick weekend, and this place is top notch from top to bottom. I believe there might be a more detailed review from me already. Well worth staying here.

Have been here many times over the last 20 years and have never left feeling like we had a good experience. We keep trying it every 2-3 years or so because it is only one of a few restaurants on the west side of Lake...Gogebic. The service has been indifferent at best but usually very poor. Nothing ever seems to click at this place. What I think of the food is always overshadowed by the lack of care shown towards their customers.More

The grounds are beautiful and spacious! The bar on site is clean and friendly, then even stayed open for our group. The hardworking bartenders are down to earth and easy to communicate with. We had a great time staying here for the second time. If...your into fishing and outdoor fun this is the place for you! We will be back for sure. Thank you staff at Gogebic lodge!More

Started on a Friday night at 8:30 came in from snowmobiling to order supper was told the kitchen was closed because they didn't have clean dishes. I said they could use a lunch basket, pop corn bowl or whatever, they said no but I could...have a frozen pizza. This was while Don the owner sat at the bar doing nothing. Next morning went in for breakfast at 8;00 am we were the first ones in, by 9:00 they were out of coffee cups and patrons were using salad bar plates for breakfast buffet because of no clean dishes. The cabins were clean but there was a honest screw up on room charges that took 40 minutes to resolve. The help seems like good help but have no support from management or owners they were short staff the 3 days we were there. Doesn't seem that the owner cares about customers just counts on them coming in from habit or convenience. I won't go there again for a glass of water. We have had other problems here in the past but this was the worst.More

My family has had a summer cottage on Lake Gogebic for over 35 years, and this has always been one of our favorite places. The old owners sold the restaurant and it is under new management. Over the 4th of July weekend, we took the...pontoon to have dinner at the Lodge. We ordered drinks and appetizers and waited for almost an hour for our appetizers after everyone had ordered their main entrees. About an hour later, our Waitress informed us that "one" of our appetizers (fish tacos)would be ready in the next 10 minutes, but that none of us would be receiving our meals..... Either the new Cook walked out, or became terrified at the thought of preparing 12 meals at once. The restaurant "comped" our drinks, and we never did receive our meals. Such a shame, as this was one of our favorite restaurants on Lake Gogebic for many years.....It had previously been a summer annual tradition. Hopefully, they will get their act together before the summer tourist season is over.....More

I did a review on Gogebic Lodge's restaurant. Apparently, it was really for the accommodations which I did not review. I simply ate lunch here and enjoyed it.
