This is the kind of place you would only find with help from a local. It's a small place, that probably only seats 25-30 people. At lunch, it was packed with a mixture of office workers, students and construction workers. It is not fancy, the floors are an original old, worn hardwood floor, and the ceiling retains its original ornate... More

This place is a true hidden gem in Detroit. While it may not look like much (inside and out), it has truly delicious food with an artisanal flare. The menu features top notch ingredients, many of which are organic or all natural. The portions are pretty sizable, and you definitely get what you pay for. It also has a great... More

My husband and I, along with our son, had a delicious lunch at Mudgie's. The fish chowder was perfect and the salad was generous in size and very good. My husband's fish sandwich was also very tasty. Our son had the veggie roll up and he gave it a "thumbs up". If you like history, you are in the midst... More

This place is very cute and the food (mostly sandwiches) is very good. Because it is small, it may be crowded so put that in your plans. The servings are big but there is a kids menu so that helps. There is a nice little book shelf so you can grab something to read. The service is very helpful. Corktown... More

It's a great place we like to get together with friends at. They have stuff for meat lovers as well as veggies. I will never forget the taste of that super delicious artichoke soup! Too bad they don't have it all the time. However, I don't like that they don't give you paper napkins. You can only use cotton ones,... More

I just love this place. It is so cute, both inside and out and the food is really good. You can order 1/2 soup and 1/2 salad, or 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad. So far every time I have been there I ordered the salad and sandwich. The portions are very large. I was never able to finish my 1/2... More

Save your appetite before you go. The sandwiches are huge, and the quality of the ingredients first-rate. The menu selection is amazing. The only downside, there is never enough room for the fabulous desserts. Meal of the Day!

Thanks for two consecutive lunches that were truly fresh, creatively created, and great tasting. Great job! I look forward to coming back to Detroit to visit you again.

A little pricey for sandwiches, but they give a heap of meat to make it worth your while. The Klub salad had plenty of turkey and real bacon and was filling even as a half salad. The Southwestside Story (chicken salad wrap) was quite flavorful. My favorite is the Barrett, loads of corned beef + swiss + thousand island +... More

It appears that Mudgies has been discovered. At an hour later than the typical lunch hour, there was a constant stream of people (virtually all newbies) flowing through the place. And, due to the tiny size of the facility, it felt crowded all of the time. Which is great for the staff - all of whom are very friendly and... More
