We were on our way to a play at the Watertown Arts center and decided to stop in to the Red Lentil based on the review in Best of Boston restaurant book. We have eaten at Candle 79 and Blossoms in NYC, but I have to say, that the Red Lentil was just as good if not better than these... More

I first heard of Red Lentil when I saw a tweet sent out by the owner announcing they were having a free brunch two days after Watertown was on lock-down following the Boston Marathon Bombing. He wanted to thank Watertown residents for what they endured. I was impressed and made a mental note to go check it out. A few... More

Many Vegetarian/Vegan restaurants in the Boston area lean one way or another when it comes to nutrition, either hyper-healthy (every dish contains kale and nutritional yeast over brown rice) or extremely unhealthy (burgers, fries, and milkshakes - but vegan) food is what they offer. Red Lentil is a welcome respite. You can enjoy a range of food from nachos to... More

We live nearby and are frequent visitors of the restaurant. It is quite small but the staff has always been very accommodating. We always start out with the appetizer Gobi Manchurian. It is almost habit forming. I am not crazy about cauliflower as a vegetable but this preparation makes it a must for anyone who visits this location. We have... More

I have read complaints on the service, but I thought they were accommodating. My husband and I went for our anniversary. I was skeptical as I heard that the food was good but the place was kind of a dump with poor service. I am perplexed by what I read. We found it clean, and hostess found us a seat... More

Although the regular menu didn't seem to have changed since my last visit 4 months back, there was a specials menu running. For a veggie, vegan meal, you can't do much better than coming here. The staff were running ragged today though - the restaurant was packed and there were people always waiting, but that's perhaps a good sign of... More

This is a great neighborhood that used to be filled with many middle Eastern options. It has changed quite a bit but still a good place to spend a few hours. Red Lentil provides many options and everything we had was quite tasty. The vegan nachos were a bit hit with the whole family. It is pretty small so it... More

The food is prepared meticulously and with a great deal of thought and skill...done by a real chef. It's delicious, unusual, eclectic. It's exceptional for any restaurant, not just a vegetarian offering. The portions are not overwhelmingly large, but they are very satisfying. It's a bit pricey for café food, but worth every penny.

I've been to Red Lentil several times since it opened and have always been really happy. When my husband's parents decided to come visit on Sunday we thought it would be a perfect place to take them. We were thrilled to get a seat pretty quickly. Our waitress came over and asked for drink orders - we ordered waters, one... More

I love vegetarian restaurants. I can order anything off the menu. I get overwhelmed since I never usually have so many choices. The food here sounded creative and was, but wasn't great. The root vegetable gratin was a little crunchy. The risotto was fairly flavorless. The shepard's pie was the best. The best was the small appetizer that we got... More
