First off, we love Newburyport and visit often. Most of the time we head over to Agave to get our favorite margarita and nacho fix. Never have been disappointed. Great to see they have expanded.

We live 4 hours away from Agave and are always craving their marguerites and nachos. This is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant. We make two trips out to Newburyport each year and Agave is our 1st stop. Yummy
We have been going to Agave for years. The food is always excellent. Service is hit or miss -- usually ok but rarely great. Prices are a bit high. The restaurant is a bit loud but is family friendly. There are three levels and they just expanded -- which should hopefully help lower the wait times during busy periods.
5/25/12 Friday evening we met friends for dinner at Agave in Newburyport. We were seated on the third floor which got so noisy that I couldn't hear my friends sitting across from me. Whenever we visit Newburyport, our first restaurant to visit is Agave. We always order the same entrees. DH loves their caribe special and I order beef fajitas. The salsa, chips and guacamole here are amazing as well. Whether we are alone as a couple or with a group the service is always great and the food is piping hot.

All good things to say, good service, great atmosphere, wonderful food, big portions, reasonable prices. The wait to be seated can be excessive, but totally worth it! Not to be missed!
Fantastic stuffed pepper. Placed was packed out. Locals obviously love the place. Hard to get a table but fitted us in.
We had a wonderful dinner on the third floor at Agave! Lots of fun sitting at the bar and very friendly bar tenders
We once loved Agave for its unique menu and higher end Mexican fare, however of recent the food has been sub-par. The Margaritas still rock, so the bar is great, but the food has been looking (and tasting) more like the usual Mexican grub without the high end flare it once seemed to have.
