My husband and I had the nicest time sitting at the bar (margarita honestly second to none) and enjoyed the most delicious dinner! Go here! And leave the kids at home :)

We dined at l'Etoile the first night it opened for the season. We always go there to celebrate milestone occasions. The food never fails to be excellent and the presentation is eye-appealing. The staff is friendly and competent. It's the best high end restaurant in Edgartown.
It's hard to get excited about food right after Thanksgiving. We were spending Friday and Saturday on the Vineyard with some friends and we were looking for a good meal. We struck gold! Service was wonderful, always attentive, never hovering. Nice wine selection too. Everyones dish was so interesting we were digging in each others plates! Can not wait to...

Great chef and food. John is a wonderful manager.
Three dining areas outside under a permanent tented area, the bar (at the bar and a couple of tables) and the interior dining rooms.
We prefer the outside dining for four or more and the bar dining area, when just my wife and I.
Great location, smack in center of town....

L'Etoile is a Martha's Vineyard must. Michael Brisson's Foie Gras is the "best bite on earth!" A suggestion: order a double order for dinner.
Delicious, no many restaurants to choose around, ..so we ended up at L'etoile. Better than I expected. Service was great, the desserts delicious. The decor very French, we liked it.
We did not eat here but stopped for a cocktail prior to our reservation elsewhere. The terrace was lovely to sit on and soak up the atmosphere of this lovely town. The cocktails were nice, reasonable, but the service a bit slow.
We were expecting excellent based on the reviews, the atmosphere, and the price. Service startet out a little spotty even though we were one of the first tables seated and the reastaurant was not yet crowded. When my husband didn't know what kind of cocktail to order right away, it took the server a long time to return to the...

We wanted to dine at one of the best rated establishments in Edgartown, and the reviews from numerous places brought us here. I found myself rather disappointed, sorry to say. It seems they are trying too hard to be hip and pretentious, especially when one sees the menu. The offerings were considerably overpriced, and the food was rather average.

Well in my 50 years I guess it had to happen one day. The hostess informed us that Mid-September week day at 6pm that they were booked up and missing servers and so if we wanted to eat we had to eat in the drab plain bar area or outside on the front porch. I guess my standard island wardrobe...
