Wow. Nice upscale decor, not your cheap decor. Services was super, flexible and helpful. I had the sampler special with lamb and chicken. Its four of the chef's selections comes with an appetizer, rice, naan and desert. A good size three course meal. All dishes were delicious. The menu provides several dishes from the four cooking regions, north, south, east... More

The division of the menu into sepearte sections for the different geographical quadrants of India is a nice idea, but doesn't quite work in practice. I also chose badly, meaning that my meal was much less satisfying than it might have been. However, the restaurant is not entirely blameless - the waiters were 'attentive' to the point of being pushy.... More

Passage to India is distinguished by a varied menu that combines regional dishes from diverse parts of India. There are many intriguing choices here that are not encountered elsewhere. Lamb and shrimp dishes are especially delicious, and interesting vegetarian options are also available. If you don't see something on the menu, ask. As an example, we enjoy palak paneer (spinach... Went to Passage for the 3rd time, food is always good and consistent, staff are nice and attentive..We didn't have our reservation so we had to wait for at least 25 mins. But it's all worth the wait :) Lesson learned esp on a Saturday night...Highly recommended :)

We visited this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and were disappointed with the pretty limited menu and the flavors of the food we ordered. The portions were a bit small, too. I understand the desire to have regional cuisine from the four quadrants of India, but the lack of depth in the menu and the seeming repetitive flavors in the... More

Interesting menu - broken down by cuisines of different regions of India. Fun to know. The crab dish I ordered was exquisite. Since I was dining alone, I ordered off the appetizer menu - a nice way to sample more than one dish. The apple and yam dish was a little too strongly spiced for my tastes (but I ate... More

This is a very nice Indian restaurant with some unusual dishes in addition to the more typical North Indian tandoori and curries. Their menu is divided into North, East, South and West Indian courses. Unlike a lot of Indian restaurants, their dishes have a lot of texture to them. The goat curry and the baigan (egg plant curry) were both... More

This is a really nice Indian restaurant with a lot of dishes that I have not seen elsewhere. The chutney ni murgi - chicken in spicy cilantro sauce - is highly recommended. Dinner is quite pricey, but the lunch menu is very reasonably priced.

Passage to India is great for interesting regional cuisines from India. I have learnt with experience to go easy on the currys (too much cream for my taste) and focus on the dry roasted Tandoori meat. Is not trying to be the cheapest, but we found it very good value if you order carefully.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Maryland. I have been in Montgomery County for 15 years and this is consistenly one of the best. Food is very very good and service is good. Menu is not the usual Indian restaurant menu; some very good but rare items are to be found. Have been here mostly with business partners.
