Try the chicken Orvieto or veal Orvieto, both a really good. The chopino was great. The service was great. Try it.

I have probably eaten at Varano's 8 to 10 times now. I attempt to try different dishes, however, at least half of the time, I HAVE TO order the Shrimp Scampi (Gamberi 'Stile Scampi). It is the best I have had anywhere and I try it in any "worth-it's-salt" Italian restaurant. As well, my friend loves their Little neck clams...

The food is excellent. I would recommend the Veal Parmesan. The portions are large (not good for the waistline). The only criticism I have is that the tomato sauce was a bit overpowering for my taste, but I am not a big tomato lover. The bread is wonderful and they always have specials for dinner. If you want to have the best italian food in Maine,go to Varano's in Wells. My favorite two entrees are the Veal Parmigian and this next dish you have to ask for...Veal Francaise.Service is fantastic.

Great tomato sauce (we bought a jar to take home) and the minestrone soup was the best ever. My wife loved her fettucine alfredo and my linguine and meatballs was out of this world.
This restaurant knows what they are doing. Great selection of excellent and large portions of
food, tastefully prepared and served by a delightful staff. The setting is perfect for large groups or simply a couple who want to have a special night out. The cutlets are enormous, and the haddock with pasta very tasty. A delightful experience that will keep...

from the bread, to the dessert this place does Italian as well as the North End! I had the eggplant parm and the server suggested a wine to compliment it. the staff is helpful and friendly!
Have tried many of their dishes and all have been very tasty. I believe they have just one dish which includes Haddock and it is out of this world.
The food here is good, there were a few negatives for us but maybe just preference. We started off with fried ravioli, they were tasty but a little to crunchy on outside edges for my taste. The bread was a little overdone, but they give you some of their own olive oil with herbs to dunk.Again maybe just opinion, but olive...
