Greeted with a smile. Waiter was pleasant. Was not impressed with the food. Bland flavors. Portions were fine. Left full but like I said, not impressed.

A nice location in the Old Port; they have all of the standard fare you would want in an Indian restaurant. It is always fresh and tasty and the service is excellent. We get take out once or twice a month as well.
I was in Portland for four months, years back and I happened to stumble in on the Tandoor. I was hooked. I worked in the Old Port so I was able to come back and eat lunch just about every day. Lunch... shrimp curry and a vegetarian dish... nothing special.... a bit of an odd taste in the sauce... nan was good but somewhat greasy... service was a bit slow....
This is one of my favorite restaurants. We usually order nan and the butter chicken which are both delicious!

Small restaurant, great dishes. Stellar customer service. I highly recommend the lamb vindaloo and coconut soup! The mango lassi is delicious! Perfect for first dates!

Excellent selection, curries, tikka, real tandoor cooking. Naan baked in tandoor, so fresh, hot and that great grill flavor. Fresh chutneys on table- mint/cilantro, red pepper, and a sweet tamarind sauce. The chicken tikka was very flavorful, the Mahi Ba aab, medium spicy was fantastic. Hotter than I expected, but mighty tasty. Good service. The music was a tad loud,...

The curries, the breads, the appetizers (particularly the onion bajhi), the desserts, the tea . . . I always love this place - and it smells so good, too!
