The food is phenomenal. Especially the bread. There were so many specials it was hard to choose. The entrees were photo-worthy. I will not soon forget those meals.

After a bumpy ride on a logging road we arrived at a lovely area on Millinocket Lake. What a view! Lovely outdoor or indoor seating. Lots of history at the River Drivers Inn. Two meals were both above average. Located just outside Baxter State Park entrance. Good and pleasantly rustic.

I grew up in this area and return to the Millinocket region yearly. I was very impressed with the food and service my family enjoyed while in town. Yes, this spot will not be the easiest place to find but the food, service and views of gorgeous Mt. Katahdin are so worth the effort.

This is not an area with a very high bar for fine dining. That River Drivers' is narrowly considered one of the better eateries there is really not saying much.
