We understand these guys got the chef from"Sage" (one our favorites until he left). We stopped in for lunch one day, and it was very nice. I ordered the fried oysters and they were nicely done.

That chef is a cutie. Spreading that dimpled smile all over the place, wishing everyone well, and full of genuine caring for his customers. The food was architected beautifully. Devilled eggs were both usual and extraordinary. Mustardy and rich with dill and caviar flavor complements. The salad was fantastic, with bold oniony flavor and some grated cheese/pressed egg on top... More

My wife and I had lunch here with some work associates of mine...and couldn't stop raving about it afterward. Duck fat fries as an appetizer? Amazing. I had the lunch special (it was a Monday) of red beans and rice...far and away the best I've ever had, anywhere. It was so flavorful, with just the right amount of spices added.... More

Cotton Restaurant located on the Ouachita River in downtown Monroe La is a culinary delight. Owned by Chef Cory Bahr, the restaurant is a testimony to Bahr's creativity. The food, while not what I consider typical Louisiana fare is still out of this world. Fresh ingredients are the key. If you eat at Cotton be sure to try the duck... More

This place is COMPLETELY overrated! I think the locals are SO proud of Chef Cory Bahr, that it's become sacrilege to speak honestly about the place. The food is mediocre at best and would not be able to hold its own in any major or mid major city. The Muscovy duck wraps are undoubtedly the stars of the restaurant and... More

I had lunch with my fiance and his son here. The atmosphere and service was wonderful. The food on the other hand we didn't care for.

The staff were very friendly, the menu great the building beautiful - but extremely thrown off by the wall art. I am assuming the restaurant did not intend to offend but the Cotton Fields with Slaves picking cotton showcase such a negative reality of crimes against humanity. It would be like a German Restaurant hanging wall art regarding Auschwitz. Not... More

In northern Louisiana, a truly good meal is, unfortunately, hard to come by, that is unless you love fried something with French fries or flour gravy. However, in an historic riverfront building in downtown Monroe, LA, Chef Cory Bahr, champion of a Food Network’s Chop competition, creates great dishes at Restaurant Cotton based on Southern Soul food but with his... This place was recommended to me by a business associate in Monroe and quite frankly I didn't expect much. Upon entering, I felt like I was in a trendy New Orleans Warehouse District restaurant. Great decor, Great brunch menu and outstanding service. You have to try the Bloody Mary with a slice of fried bacon, pickled okra and a giant... More
