Just had the best darned lard biscuit I have ever had in my life. (and if you don't know what that is, you are really missing out on something fine.)

This restaurant is my favorite in southern Louisiana. I lived in New Orleans for 5 years and when we return to the state it's a mandatory trip westward and stopping here. Great food and great service. If you want a good LA meal expect to pay like you would in NOLA and don't rate it a one because $20 is...

Upscale restaurant in an old house, so charm is built into the experience. Service was excellent, without too much silly friendliness but not at all standoffish. They didn't, however, wait until we both were finished before clearing the plates, which is a mistake. Furthermore, the wine list was very limited (no Malbecs, for example) and they didn't have the Spanish...

This restaurant could be very good, and occaasionally, it is. The setting and atmosphere are quite pleasing, and service is attentive. But the food sometimes suffers from too much butter (yes, as a matter of fact, that is possible) and heavy sauces. And the overall quality of food and service doesn't always justify the expense.

We started with the pan-seared crab cakes....Delicious. My husband got the steak which was superb and I got the grouper. It was awesome and the staff was outstanding. Everytime we go to Lafayette will definately eat there.
Recent visit to this place to eat and visit with friends. I only could afford a cup of turkey and tasso gumbo and a caesar salad. The gumbo had way to much tasso in it. The smoke flavor of the tasso was so strong to be any good to eat. Tasso is not meant to used as a main meat...

Went there with friends visiting from out of state. Waiter ignored us for 45 minutes or so. I expressed my dissatisfaction to him firmly but politely. Later that night after dining one of our party became desperately ill and remained so for a couple of days. I found the nexus my chastisement of the waiter and my friend's illness disturbing....

The entre, salad, wine, service, and atmosphere was exceptional. One of the BEST places in Lafayette for fine dining.
On our trip through "Cajun Country" we found Cafe Vermilionville to be the best restaurant we experienced. The menu is very creative and includes traditional dishes and a variety of wild game. We started our meal with the Crawfish Beignets, which included Fried Pickles. My husband chose Lapin Duet which was rabbit 2 ways with fabulous sides of Gnocchi in...
