Centro is located in downtown Des Moines, in the Masonic Temple. We did not have a reservation and waited in the bar area, they were extremely busy due a graduation a DMU, according to the waiter. We were waited on quickly in the bar area and a table in the dining room was ready in 10 - 15 minutes. Service... More

I was performing at the Temple Theatre right above the restaurant so conveniently we went here for dinner (EVERY single night!!!). I'm a New Yorker and a foodie and let me tell you this place is wonderful! Here are my favs from the menu: The bread on the table and olive oil is wonderful. I went there twice, both times it was quite pleasant. Friendly staff, good food. You must try the steamed mussels, delicious.

Centro is stunning. My wife and I go for lunch once in a while and have been for dinner as well. The tomato soup is phenomenal, I could eat it all day. The bread is great. The service is great. We love the desserts and all of their dishes are magnificent!

We finally got warm weather suitable for patio seating. Had to wait till after 5:00 to get the full menu. My wife liked her pizza (which was the 1/2 price special). I was intrigued by the Kill-Bill pork tenderloin: includes ham, bacon, pepperjack cheese, sunny side up egg, toasted ciabatta bun. It was superb. So much meat I had half... More

Classy place, white table clothes and all. It is a bit price but there are decent inexpensivechoices also. The Burgers and ceaser salad are very reasonable and good. Of course the drinks are hotel prices starting at $5 for a beer and going up from there. the bar waiter was super, very attentive and friendly. It is pretty must in... More

I had the homemade gnocchi and it was excellent. Both of my dinner companions had pizza and raved about the great taste that they attributed to the cheese. We arrived at about 7:30 on a Thursday night and the place was busy but we were able to snag a table. Service was excellent and I loved the atmosphere which was... More

We were in town for a wedding. Headed to Centro at 7pm on a Friday without a reservation. They told us the wait would be a hour or we could eat in the bar. We walked into the bar and there was a table. Started with a Bellinitini, it was strong but good. Husband had a beer. For dinner got... More
